NBA Free Agency: Predicting Where the Top 15 Free Agents Will Land

John FrielDec 6, 2011

On December 9th, all the pent-up frustration from the lockout will finally be let loose as the NBA free agency period begins.

What this means is that teams can begin re-signing their players, signing other teams' players and making trades. These moves will have to be done quickly and with no hesitation, as the regular season will begin on December 25th.

This means organizations will have less than three weeks to build a roster suitable enough to play a season.

This could mean that questionable moves will be made, but also brings potential for great moves, as there's no doubt that members of each team's front office have been pondering on just who to grab when the time comes.

There aren't as many superstars as their were in 2010 and there aren't as many as there will be in 2012, but there are a great deal of role players who could fill holes and eradicate some key flaws on championship-caliber teams.

It also leads the way for teams to possibly build their rosters so that they can impress potential suitors during the 2012 offseason when the likes of Chris Paul and Dwight Howard will become free agents.

These 15 players lead the bunch, and we've managed to construct a machine that will allow us to see in the future and determine just where these players will go. So get a first-hand look and see who's going where.

15. Rodney Stuckey

1 of 15

With the Detroit Pistons drafting Brandon Knight, the team pretty much made it clear that they don't aim to keep restricted free agent Rodney Stuckey around for another four years.

It was a disappointing four years for Stuckey, as he was forced to endure some of the worst years in the history of the franchise, from a record standpoint as well as an organizational standpoint, when considering just how much has transpired between the players and the ineptitude of the front office and the coaching staff.

Stuckey might consider himself lucky that he's getting out of Detroit without losing too much of his dignity. In fact, he could be sought-after by a number of teams after four impressive years with the Pistons.

In his most recent season he averaged 16 points, five assists, and three rebounds per game.

He is a tough sell considering that he's a combo guard who's stuck between being a point guard and a shooting guard, but it doesn't dispel his talent, as he is a stellar athlete and has the capability to drive at an efficient rate as well as consistently hit the mid-range jumper.

Prediction: Phoenix Suns

It's unbelievable how Stuckey has received absolutely no press. I understand that he is a quality player who could command more than what most teams would like to give him, but it's still come as a surprise that there have been no updates on where Rodney could possibly be heading.

To take a shot in the dark and give an educated guess, we'll say that he heads to the Phoenix Suns. With Aaron Brooks stuck in China until March, the Suns are going to need someone to serve as a backup to Steve Nash while also providing needed minutes at shooting guard to replace Vince Carter.

14. Shane Battier

2 of 15

Spending only the last 23 games of the 2010-2011 regular season as well as the postseason with the Memphis Grizzlies, Shane Battier could find himself in yet another uniform next year as a number of teams will be looking to pursue the defensive-minded small forward as a possible bench option.

At this stage in his career, Battier actually starting doesn't seem like the logical thing to do due to his limitations on offense which have caused him to average over 10 points per game only three times while consistently starting in all but one season.

His offense is mostly limited to hitting wing jumpers and the occasional three-pointer which is why it's a terrific thing in Battier's case that he's such a superb defender.

If any team is going to make a strong push towards signing Battier, it's going to be because of how notoriously solid of a defender he has become over the past decade.

Whether he was with Memphis, Houston or Memphis a second time around, Battier has been known for his famed defense that gives his assignments no room to breathe and no way to see the basket upon the release of their shot.

A number of teams have already stepped up to the plate in order to receive Battier's services, but one team in particular stands out. This team will not only allow Shane to continue playing legitimate and significant minutes off the bench, but also to possibly be a part of a championship team for the first time.

Prediction: Miami Heat

As skilled a defender Batter is, he's never been past the second round. You would think that someone who recently turned 33 would have at least made it once, but he's only made it to the second round with the Houston Rockets on one occasion and with the Memphis Grizzlies this past year.

If it's success he desires, then Battier should have no trouble in accepting the offer that the Miami Heat are set to offer. The Heat have made it clear that they're hoping Battier signs with them and it's also become clear that Battier feels the same way.

13. Tayshaun Prince

3 of 15

Not receiving as much attention as we anticipated, longtime Detroit Pistons small forward Tayshaun Prince is set to hit the market and is looking for a new place to call home after a few forgettable seasons with the team he won a title with in 2004.

Prince is as consistent as they could possibly come and it shows in his 13-to-15 points per game average over the past seven seasons. The only two years of his career in which he didn't average that much were first two years in the league, when his role wasn't as prevalent as it is now.

Tayshaun has always been regarded as a valuable piece of the Pistons despite never making an All-Star game, and it shows in the commitment and maturity that he shows on both sides of the ball.

On offense, Prince is one of the league's most consistent mid-range threats and can also utilize his lengthy arms to drive and avoid the block against any member of the front court.

It's Prince's defense that's the most impressive aspect of his game, as he also utilizes those arms to keep his assignment in front of him at all times while also using his quick feet to keep up with the assignment if that player attempts to put a move on him.

Tayshaun's seen it all and he'll be making one lucky team very happy when they end up signing him.

Prediction: New Jersey Nets

After a dismal first season with the Nets in which he shot an unbelievably horrendous 38 percent from the field, Travis Outlaw may already see his time with the team come to an end as New Jersey has expressed interest in possibly signing Prince.

The Nets are looking to make a big splash this offseason, and starting off by signing Prince would be a huge step in right direction for a team looking to re-sign Deron Williams and possibly sign Dwight Howard in the 2012 offseason.

12. Andrei Kirilenko

4 of 15

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, so can somebody tell Andrei Kirilenko that he won't be making $18 million next season?

I certainly wouldn't break that news to someone nicknamed AK-47 who has a tattoo of a winged demon on their back, but it's only the right thing to do since he didn't deserve that kind of money in the first place when the Utah Jazz offered him a lucrative deal back in 2005.

We get that he's a terrific all-around player who can block shots, but $10 million-plus shouldn't go to someone who had averaged 16 points, six boards, three assists, three blocks and two steals per game.

Impressive numbers? Sure. Good enough for $18 million? Not in the slightest.

Kirilenko now hits the free agency market for the first time since signing that deal and could be playing on an NBA team not named the Utah Jazz for the first time in his decade-long career since being imported from Russia.

Kirilenko has been a supreme disappointment in accordance to the weight of his contract, as he has failed to live up to the $10 million-plus that he's been making since 2005.

We can't fault AK-47 though, and he could still end up receiving a solid deal considering that he's coming off of another solid season in which he averaged 12 points, five rebounds and three assists per game as the team's starting small forward.

Soon to be 31, Kirilenko's athleticism is wearing down but he's still a terrific multi-dimensional threat who can play strong individual defense and greatly benefit any team that ends up signing him for the right price.

Prediction: Russia

The Utah Jazz are most likely to begin starting Gordon Hayward as their small forward, which means Kirilenko should be on the way out.

A few teams have courted the idea including the New Jersey Nets and their Russian owner Mikhail Prohkorov, but it seems that Kirilenko may just be attached to the idea of remaining in Russia after spending time in his native country over the course of the lockout.

AK-47 has made his money in the NBA and he may consider it time to spend the rest of his playing career in his native country.

11. Jason Richardson

5 of 15

Does anyone else find it strange that Jamal Crawford has been receiving so much recognition while no one seems to notice that a more consistent three-point threat in Jason Richardson has been widely ignored?

Compared to Crawford's lowly 35 percent career three-point percentage, Richardson has shot 37 percent for his career and has even averaged more three-pointers per game at nearly two.

He has been only getting better with age as far as his consistency goes, as he has shot 39 percent or better in every season since the completion of the 2006-2007 campaign and has hit two three-pointers in each of those seasons.

Richardson has been of the league's most lethal perimeter shooters since his career began, and has averaged at least one three-pointer per game in every season since 2001 as a member of the Golden State Warriors.

To go further on about how good of a perimeter threat he is, Richardson saw his best year from beyond the arc come in his lone year with the Charlotte Bobcats, when he shot a career high 41 percent from beyond the arc while also netting a career-high three three-pointers per game.

Jason was the primary scoring option for the first time in his career, which explains the amount of threes he was converting on, but that 41 percent field goal percentage that he made on a team like Charlotte says a lot about the quality of shooter he can truly be.

Prediction: Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are going to strike out with Caron Butler and Jamal Crawford when looking for their next starting shooting guard, but they'll eventually find a consolation prize in Jason Richardson.

The Bulls have shown interest in Richardson and they could be looking to spend however much money they have in order to reel him in. While Jason has said before that he would like to stay with Orlando, it would be hard to believe that he'd turn down a starting job playing in a backcourt with the league's reigning MVP on a championship-caliber team.

10. Jeff Green

6 of 15

Not met with too warm of a reception due to the departure of Kendrick Perkins in the trade that brought him here, Boston Celtics power forward Jeff Green seemed a little lost during the short time he spent with his new team.

Why wouldn't he be?

Green played as the starting power forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder for three-and-a-half seasons and had some productive years on the developing team as he averaged as much as 17 points per game.

He was a terrific offensive player who could score inside and as far out as the three-point line, and was also a solid complement to his young teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

However, the Thunder were looking to add some bulk to their front court and they made the smart move by bringing in the bulkiest of centers in Perkins and sending Green to the Celtics as collateral.

It helps the Celtics to have an offensive threat who can space the floor and backup Kevin Garnett, but Green just doesn't seem to fit into the defensive and physical system that the Celtics have played since 2007.

For two key reasons, Green isn't the best defender and is a tremendous step down from the defensive intensity of a player like Garnett.

Another flaw to Green's game in the Celtics' system is his inability to play physically and secure rebounds. It's understood that Green would prefer to shoot jumpers all day, but averaging fewer than seven rebounds per game throughout a career for someone that stands at 6'9" is extremely disappointing.

Prediction: Boston Celtics

Despite all of that, the Celtics need a player like Jeff Green to support them in the long run.

With Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen not getting any younger, Green is going to help create the basis for the Celtics once those three begin their eventual departures. Also, he has Garnett giving him guidance along the way which could greatly help improve his overall game and hopefully his physicality.

Both sides have expressed mutual interest, as Green is seeking a multi-year deal with the Celtics.

9. Thaddeus Young

7 of 15

An extremely underrated forward who has shown a lot of upside and potential with the Philadelphia 76ers over the past four years, the athletic Thaddeus Young hasn't drawn too much attention from many outsides sources, with the Denver Nuggets being the lone team to express interest after the two sides met.

It's going to be tough for the Nuggets to sign Young, however, as he is a restricted free agent and the Sixers will be ready to match any offer in order to keep Thaddeus in Philadelphia.

There's going to be no doubt that the Sixers will match the offer that the Nuggets could potentially offer, as the team enjoyed what they saw out of Young when he came off the bench as the team's sixth man.

The Sixers have one of the deepest benches in the league with Young and Louis Williams supporting the starters off the pine, and the team isn't prepared to let Thaddeus go after a productive season in which he averaged 13 points and five rebounds per game in 26 minutes of action per night.

The team has mostly been utilizing him as a power forward, but Young's true position is actually at small forward when you notice that he has the speed to keep up with opposing small forwards and the fact that he's listed at only 6'8".

Even though he's undersized, Young has the capability to guard the majority of the league's power forwards thanks in part to his athleticism.

Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers don't have to worry about key players leaving the team via free agency aside from Young, which means their offseason focus will be to keep him satisfied in Philadelphia.

They have the money to match any offer the Nuggets or any other team can send over, as the team is prepared to sign Young and have him as their backup small and power forward for many seasons to come.

At only 23, Young is too valuable of a young, talented and athletic forward to be let go for nothing.

8. DeAndre Jordan

8 of 15

Yes, I do realize that DeAndre Jordan did receive an offer worth $40 million over a five-year span to play with the Los Angeles Clippers, but he must stay on this list because he is technically a free agent until December 9th when the team can officially re-sign him.

It wasn't the smart thing to give $8 million to Jordan, but it was the right thing to make sure that he stays because of how valuable a player he could potentially turn out to be.

With Chris Kaman playing in 32 games or less in two of the past three seasons and missing out a large chunk of the regular season in three of the past four seasons, the Clippers' management recognized that they had a capable backup center and have now decided to start him if he agrees to the terms.

With that being said, Kaman will most likely be traded as a means to get something out of him before he becomes a free agent next year. Word is that the San Antonio Spurs and Detroit Pistons have shown interest, which could potentially mean Tayshaun Prince coming from Detroit or DeJuan Blair coming from the Spurs.

In his third season and only at 22 years old, Jordan impressed as the team's starting center while replacing Kaman. Jordan showed a tremendous deal of athleticism that could even give Blake Griffin a run for his money, and it translated into superb post defense. He utilized it along with lengthy arms on a 6'11", 250-pound frame to average two blocks per game.

He could still use some work on his offense, as he only averaged seven points per game, but he does know how to catch and finish, and that's at least a step in the right direction.

Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers

He made $854,000 last year and will be making $8 million every year for the next five. Do you honestly think that the 23-year-old is going to walk away from that and a starting job?

This could turn out to be a wise investment for the Clippers, as they could get all that money back if Jordan does end up developing some sort of offensive game while improving his rebounding numbers, only seven boards per game.

7. Arron Afflalo

9 of 15

To think that nobody even knew who Arron Afflalo was in 2009 when he was a member of the Detroit Pistons.

Outside of Detroit, how could you know who Afflalo was? The Pistons weren't giving him any minutes and he was only averaging five points per game in the small amount of time he was receiving in Detroit.

The team that had drafted him late in the first round in 2007 gave up on him after two years and decided to cut their losses by sending him to Denver for a second-round pick.

I hope the Pistons got what they wanted out of that second-round pick, because it turns out that Afflalo is actually pretty good. T

he player who had failed to receive more than 17 minutes of playing time per night in his first two years immediately became a starter and proved himself enough by averaging nine points and shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc.

Afflalo only continued to take advantage of his situation, as he averaged 13 points in an attempt to make up for the losses of Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups.

For the third consecutive year, Afflalo shot over 40 percent from beyond the arc with a 42 percent three-point conversion rate this time around. He also hit a career high of nearly two three-pointers per game as he continued to showcase why he is one of the league's top three-point shooters.

The main reason why Afflalo would be sought, however, is because of his defense that's near elite status despite Arron being only 25 last season. He's incredibly athletic and can combine that with a great deal of speed, length and lateral quickness that allows him to keep up with any type of guard, whether they use their speed or strength.

Prediction: Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets don't have much, and they intend to keep the restricted free agent around for the rebuilding phase of the franchise.

Despite the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers both being interested in signing Afflalo, they'll find it difficult considering that they're both over the salary cap and also because the Nuggets are prepared to match any offer that a team throws at Afflalo.

I'm not a general manager, but if I was a member of the Nuggets' front office, I would ask for the team to begin building around Afflalo and the number of other young and talented players that the team acquired in their trade with the Knicks last season.

6. Caron Butler

10 of 15

A talented and multi-dimensional forward, Dallas Mavericks small forward Caron Butler was on his way to helping lead his team to a championship run before bowing out 29 games into the season after a devastating injury.

Prior to the injury, Butler was averaging 15 points and four boards per game while displaying talents that we had never seen before, including his greatly improved three-point shot. Despite failing to hit better than 36 percent of his three-point attempts during his nine-year career, Butler was managing to hit at an impressive and surprising 43 percent from beyond the arc last year.

It's not Butler's three-point shooting that's going to attract potential employers. The reason he'll get signed to a nice deal is because of how multi-dimensional he is on both sides of the ball.

On both sides of the court, he can play at the one, two or three, and he has the capability to facilitate an offense while also keeping up with opposing point guards.

Butler is lengthy and strong and has a quick first step which enables him to get to the rim at will. Couple that with a steady mid-range game, and you have a player who's going to one of the most sought-after this off season.

Caron already has meetings set-up with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers, and it may just come down to those teams.

Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers

As appealing as it would be to start at the vacant opening at shooting guard for the Bulls, Caron would prefer to be in his comfort zone at the wide-open small forward spot in Los Angeles.

It also helps that the Clippers actually have that kind of money to throw at Butler, unlike the Bulls, who have a lot of money tied up in the contracts of Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah.

With money and a guaranteed spot in the Clippers' starting lineup, Butler should be able to have a field day playing alongside the likes of Eric Gordon, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

5. Tyson Chandler

11 of 15

Set to be heavily recruited by a number of teams after being the defensive anchor for the 2011 NBA champion Dallas Mavericks and then announcing that he doesn't expect to stay with the team, Tyson Chandler is set to become another overpaid center after an impressive postseason run.

It's a disappointing sight to see Chandler potentially leave Dallas, especially after the defensive intensity that he provided the Mavericks in their championship run, which was heavily praised by Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki.

Dirk claimed that he's, "...never played with a center that's as athletic and as quick and able to cover that much ground and play with his energy."

Enough said for front offices to begin ringing Chandler's phone off the hook. Tyson may have only averaged one block per game during his career, but it's his individual defense that's his specialty, and it explains his block total being so low because of his assignments usually having to pass. Chandler is too physical, strong and long to beat.

Chandler's coming off of a stellar first season with the Mavericks, in which he averaged ten points and nine rebounds per game as the team's starting center.

His understanding of how the offense works is stellar as well, since Chandler cutting to the rim and going up for alley-oops is a regularly-seen occurrence in any location that he plays.

With teams scrambling for centers like Chandler and Nene Hilario, Tyson should expect a starting job and a hefty contract coming his way.

Prediction: Houston Rockets

It's been reported that Chandler is set to be in meetings with the New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors, but it appears that the Rockets may be the most willing to spend the money. They are desperately searching for a big man to replace Yao Ming down low.

Using 6'6" Chuck Hayes as their center over the past two seasons, the Rockets will miss out on Nene but will obtain Chandler as their consolation prize over a number of teams that consider Tyson their primary target.

Chandler then makes the Rockets into a playoff team once again, as he joins a lineup consisting of the likes of Kyle Lowry, Kevin Martin and Luis Scola.

4. Jamal Crawford

12 of 15

Coveted by a number of teams that are anticipating bringing in Jamal Crawford's services, the sharp-shooter may very well be done with the Atlanta Hawks considering the number of teams that are set to woo him in with absurd amounts of money.

Due to a $120 million deal that they gave to Joe Johnson, the Hawks may not be able to sign Crawford this free agency period, as teams will most likely offer him a deal nearing $10 million per year.

He may be 31, but teams are going to sign him for his shooting ability rather than his driving game, as Crawford is one of the league's most lethal, dangerous and timely shooters.

Alongside J.R. Smith, Ben Gordon, and Kobe Bryant, Crawford is another player who relies on his ability to get hot to help support his team.

He has never been the most consistent shooter at 35 percent from beyond the arc for his career and shooting over 40 percent from deep only once, but he still finds himself as one of the most feared shooters in the game because of his ability to hit clutch shots and get hot from the field.

Crawford is not the type of player you want to see hit a few three-pointers in a row, because that few will turn into five or six really quickly. If being the only player in NBA history to score 50 points with three different teams doesn't tell you something about how dangerous of a player can be, then I don't know what to tell you.

Jamal is one of the most sought after free agents and is set to receive lucrative offers from just about every team that has the money to sign him which will make it a grand surprise to see who eventually signs him.

Face it, the Orlando Magic are a desperate team and they'll be perfectly willing to execute a sign-and-trade in order to bring Crawford to the Magic and possibly convince Dwight Howard to stick around.

Crawford will get his wish fulfilled of becoming a starter once again, and will also get the benefit of playing on an elite Magic team that could be contending for a title if they end up making the right moves.

On a roster full of three-point shooters, playing in a system designed for a player of his shooting creed and with Dwight Howard taking up plenty of attention in the middle, there's no doubt that Crawford's going to get his shots in, and frequently

3. David West

13 of 15

Spending the first eight years of his career with the New Orleans Hornets, power forward David West now sees himself as one of the most sought-after free agents in this year's offseason.

West has played an integral part in the Hornets' lineup as their second go-to scorer behind Chris Paul. He has thrived greatly playing in a lineup with CP3, as he constantly takes advantage of Paul's influence to attract double teams by hitting mid-range jumper after mid-range jumper.

His mid-range jumper may be the most consistent in the game when comparing him to other big-man shooters, as spends the majority of his time taking those 15 to 20-footers and hitting them at an impressive rate, with a 49 percent field goal conversion rate for his career.

The past two years have brought that percentage up, as he has shot 51 percent both times.

He's not your average power forward either. He could be regarded as undersized at 6'9", and finds his offense coming outside of the paint as opposed to the traditional method of finding shot opportunities near the basket.

West will drive from time-to-time, but he's mostly reliant on his mid-range game which helps stretch out the floor and attracts attention away from the paint and perimeter.

One of the most highly coveted free agents this free agency period, the Hornets will be doing all they can to preserve West and keep him in New Orleans. Keeping West and showcasing their commitment could mean a lot to Paul and his contemplation of departing either in free agency next year or via trade.

Prediction: Stays with New Orleans

The Hornets have a choice to make between either re-signing West or his replacement when he missed the postseason, Carl Landry. There's no doubt that the Hornets will go after West before Landry, as he has become more adjusted to their system and their teammates.

Not only that, but the team is going to throw a lot of money at West so he can stick around and convince CP3 to stay. The worst thing for the Hornets to do at the moment besides losing Paul via trade is to lose West and completely lose out on the loyal fan base that has followed the team from New Orleans to Oklahoma City.

2. Marc Gasol

14 of 15

It's going to be awfully difficult for any team to pry Marc Gasol out of the clutches of the Memphis Grizzlies after the way he played in the postseason. Gasol is a restricted free agent and the Grizzlies have already announced that they will gladly match any offer that is given to their starting center.

Gasol may basically be off the market because of the Grizzlies having a stranglehold on him, but he is still considered a free agent and there's always a right price for a free agent.

Probably not in the case of Gasol, but it would be worth a shot to try and obtain possibly one of the most offensively gifted centers in the league.

After basically being forgotten after being a part of the trade that sent Pau Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers, Marc Gasol finally had his breakthrough year in his third season, averaging 12 points and seven rebounds per game.

He actually regressed from the season before when he averaged 15 points and nine rebounds per contest, but it was his postseason performance that spoke for him as he dominated the likes of Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs before going on do the same against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his first trip to the playoffs, Gasol averaged 15 points, 11 boards and two blocks per game in the 13 games he played.

Gasol showed an impressive display of progression on both sides of the ball, as he dominated with a short fadeaway jumper on offense and played stellar defense thanks in part to his 7'1", 265-pound frame.

Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies

Gasol's going to be with the Grizzlies for a long period of time, and he's set to be the team's franchise player alongside Rudy Gay.

By having a quality center who can excel on both sides of the court, the Grizzlies are set to make a few championship runs in the future as Gasol only continues to improve.

1. Nene Hilario

15 of 15

Miami Heat fans, you've had enough filling up on LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Just because your team made the big splash last year doesn't mean it's going to happen every year now. Even with those three actually making Nene Hilario consider listing the Heat as one of his favorite options, the money just isn't there for Miami, as Nene could easily be making double what they can pay him anywhere else.

Hilario is the most coveted free agent of this offseason, and while that idea pales in comparison to what he was offered in 2010 and what's soon to be up for grabs in 2012, Nene can still play an extremely large role on a team that's a big man away from being a perennial playoff contender.

He's not your average paperweight center that you see today, but actually can produce on both sides.

Nene is one of the most gifted centers in the league, and it shows in how well he can score around the rim. He has a domineering 6'11", 260-pound frame that he knows how to throw around, and a great understanding of where the rim is at all times. This explains the 15 points per game and the league and career-high 62 percent he shot last season.

He has been hugely consistent over the past three seasons in terms of his offense, as he has averaged somewhere between 14 and 15 points per game while shooting 59 percent or better in each of those years.

Having a center who can showcase an offensive skill set like that is just what a number of teams desperately need and that's exactly why he's the most coveted player this off season.

Prediction: New Jersey Nets

He's not staying with Denver. That's for sure, after he grew frustrated with the way he was treated by the organization regarding an extension.

The New Jersey Nets have Nene as one of their primary targets this offseason as they look to fill in the power forward position that's currently occupied by Kris Humphries. Nene may have been a center for the Nuggets over the past few years, but coach George Karl actually stated that the Brazilian prefers to play power forward.

The Nets will be looking to give reason to Deron Williams to stay and Dwight Howard to come join the team next season. Adding Nene gives both players something to possibly look forward to next season.
