BCS Rankings: 3 Teams with Biggest Arguments Against Rankings

Ryan RudnanskyDec 4, 2011

Well, the final BCS rankings came out on Sunday night and you can expect, as always, to hear a lot of complaining.

Some of it was warranted, as Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy pointed out on ESPN's BCS Selection Show.

Some of it, well, was just complaining.

Here are three teams with the biggest cases against the final BCS rankings.

3. Oklahoma State (11-1, No. 3)

I personally agree they got it right putting LSU and Alabama in the title game, but I also agree a case can be made for Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State lost to unranked Iowa State in double overtime on Nov. 18, but the Cowboys did have a case when they destroyed then-No. 10 Oklahoma in Week 14, 44-10.

Plus, Oklahoma State has the best offense in the country in my opinion and would have been a heck of a matchup against No. 1 LSU.

2. Arkansas (10-2, No. 6)

Arkansas has the same amount of losses as No. 5 Oregon, but its only losses were against LSU and Alabama.

As for Oregon, the Ducks were upset by USC.

Of course, Oregon blew out Stanford, but Arkansas certainly has an argument.

1. TCU (10-2, No. 18)

The TCU Horned Frogs, who entered the season No. 14 in the AP poll, started off poorly, losing to then-unranked Baylor, and then lost to SMU.

But now that we've seen what Baylor could do over a full season, TCU's loss to the Bears doesn't seem as bad these days.

Plus, TCU beat then-No. 5 Boise State.

The Horned Frogs are ranked ninth in points per game (41.7) and 30th in points allowed per game (21.3).

Not a bad repeat performance considering they lost quarterback Andy Dalton.
