Tottenham Hotspur: Why Spurs Can Win Premier League
Harry Redknapp seems certain that Tottenham can win the Premier League, but many people laugh at the thought of the Spurs claiming the Premier League title. I don’t know why because Redknapp is right. The Spurs can win the Premier League, and this is why.
Redknapp is one of the most experienced and respected managers in English football. He's not often wrong, and here are some reasons why he is right again this time.
6. Team Spirit
1 of 6The Spurs seem to be a little different than the teams around them in the Premier League. They look like they enjoy playing football.
The players seem to have really bonded together, and that is helping them on the field.
A close unit, despite having a big squad, is essential. The Spurs have that, and their players will fight for each other on the field. This gives them something money can't buy: Team spirit.
5. Scott Parker
2 of 6Since signing from West Ham, Scott Parker has been a revelation for Tottenham. A string of fantastic performances have earned the reigning footballer of the year even more praise.
With Scott Parker commanding the midfield, the Spurs will be more than capable of challenging for the Premier League title.
4. Form
3 of 6Tottenham are the team to beat in the Premier League at the moment. A spectacular run has seen the Spurs win nine of their last 10 Premier League games.
Since losing their first two games, to Manchester United and Manchester City, the Spurs have not lost a Premier League match.
This current run of form, assuming they win their game in hand, will see them in second place, just four points behind 'runaway' leaders Manchester City.
3. Rafael Van Der Vaart
4 of 6Rafael Van der Vaart has been an inspiration for Tottenham in the past two seasons. The creativity and flair of the Dutchman has allowed the Spurs to raise their game and become serious challengers.
With the goals and assists that come from Van der Vaart, the Spurs are capable of beating any side in the Premier League. That means they are more than capable of winning the title.
2. Goals Galore
5 of 6Tottenham are not going to struggle for goals. Their attacking options are so strong that Jermain Defoe is struggling to get a start.
Harry Redknapp has managed to get three goalscorers in his squad. Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebeyor and Rafael Van der Vaart.
So far this season they have scored seven goals each for the Spurs. This is an incredible return, especially when you consider that Gareth Bale has chipped in with another five from midfield.
If this quarter continue to play well, and score goals for fun, the Spurs can win the Premier League.
1. Brad Friedel
6 of 6Brad Friedel has provided Tottenham with the missing ingredient this season: A solid and consistent goalkeeper.
With Heurelho Gomes in goal, it always seemed likely the Spurs would concede. Now, with Friedel between the posts, things look a lot tighter.
Friedel is able to use his experience and confidence to organise an already strong defence. This has helped the Spurs to step up and become Premier League challengers.
