NBA Rumors: Teams Determined to Make a Big Splash This Season
Coming off last seasons free-agent period where teams such as the Miami Heat, New York Knicks and others made a huge splash, expect the same this season.
While the big names in the game aren't on the open market like last season, some teams will still be looking to make a splash before the season begins.
Here's a quick look at just a few of those teams looking to make an immediate impact when free agency begins on December 9.

New Jersey Nets
Whether it's attempting to acquire Dwight Howard, offering Nene a max deal or any other rumored move the Nets could make, expect them to be active after failing to land any of the top free agents a season ago.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors could make a splash and improve first-year head coach Mark Jackson's team quickly. They've made it clear they are looking to add a big guy and could even attempt to land a guy like Brandon Roy, who may want to stay on the west coast if he becomes an amnesty-clause casualty.
Sacramento Kings
The Kings will have the best cap situation of any team in the league but may not be looking to make a splash. There aren't many Kings rumors out there, but maybe they quietly have something working.
Los Angeles Clippers
Everyone assumes that Dwight Howard will end up in a Lakers uniform and Chris Paul will end up in New York, but could the Clippers end up being players in all of this? They have a good young roster and some cap space. Some of that will go to re-signing DeAndre Jordan, but they could be in a position to add a couple more key pieces.
