BCS Rankings: 3 Teams That Will Drop out of Top 25 on Sunday

The college football season is winding down and the BCS picture is as messy as ever.

Some clarity will be provided when the new rankings are released Sunday night. Unfortunately for these three teams, their names will not be featured on the fresh top 25 list.

No. 23 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Georgia Tech has been in and out of the top 25 all season long. This week, they'll fall out of the rankings for good.

The Yellow Jackets lost 31-17 to No. 13 Georgia this week, dropping them to 8-4 on the season.

Georgia Tech wasn't able to overcome a a tough schedule to end their regular season. Three of their last four games were against top 15 opponents.

They upset then-fifth ranked Clemson on October 29, but the Yellow Jackets needed to win at least two of their last four to stay ranked.

Tevin Washington and Co. will still play in a high profile bowl game, but their BCS bubble has popped.

No. 19 Penn State Nittany Lions

Without Joe Paterno at the helm, Penn State has struggled mightily.

As I'm writing this, they are getting beat down 42-7 by Wisconsin. It's the third quarter.

Penn State will drop to 9-3, which is still an impressive record. But obviously the scandal in Happy Valley has drastically affected them.

I don't expect the pollsters to show Penn State any love.

No. 22 Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Irish play No. 6 Stanford tonight and I don't think they'll be able to keep up with Andrew Luck.

There's no shame in losing to the sixth ranked team in the nation, but Notre Dame would still fall from the rankings with a loss.

They've already lost three games and only have one win over a ranked opponent.

Like Penn State and Georgia Tech, the Irish will play in a quality bowl game. They just won't do it as a top 25 team.
