Ohio State vs. Michigan: Grading the Top 2012 NFL Draft Talent in the Game
The Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines rivalry game is always a game that’s filled with great talent that will make an impact at the next level, and this game is no different.
While Michigan will be trying to defeat the Buckeyes for the first time in eight years, there are a few matchups you NFL fanatics should be looking at. More importantly, if you’re a fan of a team that needs some linemen, this game is full of talent there.
These are the grades for five future NFL talents.
Devier Posey: C+
1 of 5While the suspensions from a year ago kept Devier Posey away from the game for most of the season, Posey is still a quality talent for the NFL.
He will suffer a little bit and has suffered because of his lack of playing time this season, but let’s not forget what this guy did a year ago.
Last season, he had 848 receiving yards and seven touchdown receptions. Posey will need a strong offseason, but this guy is still a big-time NFL prospect.
Jake Stoneburner: B-
2 of 5He hasn’t produced big numbers, but he can provide an NFL team with a good goal-line threat.
He has great size, he’s athletic and he will be able to make some noise at the next level. He only has 157 receiving yards, but he’s managed to reel in seven touchdown receptions.
Stoneburner is just another one of those freaks that those NFL coaches dream about. Don’t be surprised to see his draft stock climb through summer workouts.
Mike Martin: B
3 of 5You know the Big Ten produces linemen left and right for the pros, and here’s another future defensive lineman in Mike Martin.
As a nose tackle, Martin has been able to produce more than 100 career tackles for the Wolverines.
He’s a big boy that’s going to be making himself some big money in the near future.
John Simon: B
4 of 5Like Martin, John Simon is a defensive lineman as well that’s more than capable of making some noise at the next level.
Simon is 6’2" and 270 pounds, but he’s explosive off the ball. He uses his quickness and leverage to get past the offensive line and disrupt offenses. Martin is going against Mike Brewster all game against the Buckeyes.
Should he win that battle and play another great game, his stock could rise even more.
Mike Adams: A
5 of 5Mike Adams might very well be the most impressive athlete in this game. He’s a powerful blocker that’s built like a truck.
He’s 6’6", 320 pounds and can run a low five in the 40-yard dash. Like Posey, he’s been suspended for some games this season because of the situation that happened last year, so he needs to keep playing strong.
Adams has been successful this season with his blocking, and there’s no reason to think he won’t be able to block Craig Roh all game long.
