Arkansas vs. LSU: Why Razorbacks Have What It Takes to Shock Sleeping Tigers
With three of the Top Five teams suffering losses last week, the Arkansas Razorbacks have slithered their way to the brink of a national championship.
After this Saturday, people won't just be trying to figure out how they managed to creep into the Top Five unnoticed, they'll be wondering how Arkansas managed to take down LSU and punch a ticket to the BCS title game.
LSU has had a magical season thus far. Undefeated, they've earned the right to be called the No. 1 team in the nation.
Still, the Tigers haven't locked up a spot in the national championship. They inadvertently hurt themselves by taking down Alabama; they now not only have to close out the season by beating Arkansas, they have to get the better of Georgia as well.
The Razorbacks have been overlooked all season. Despite a No. 3 ranking, Arkansas is going to be able to catch the Tigers napping.
Les Miles does a great job of preparing his team for each and every game. Still, this game doesn't have nearly the hype that the "Game of the Century" between LSU and Alabama had—despite it having greater implications for both teams involved.
Arkansas struggled mightily against Alabama earlier in the season, but with the team's newfound confidence and the offense scoring just under 40 PPG, Arkansas has what it takes to take down the Tigers on the road.
The Tigers aren't approaching this game like they approached their opening game against Oregon, but it could turn out to be a similar shootout.
This is an Arkansas team that has had to battle through adversity all season long. They are going to give the Tigers an unexpected battle; this seemingly one-sided game will prove to be a close matchup.
Ultimately, it will create a rematch in the national championship between Alabama and Arkansas—rather than Alabama and LSU.
