Everyone remembers them—the big goals that win the big games.
In the past seven years, two World Cups, two European championships and numerous cup competitions have been held.
From the Champions League to the Carling Cup and from the World Cup to the FA Cup, here are 15 memorable game-winners produced by the game's best.
Andres Iniesta 2010 World Cup vs. Holland

Andres Iniesta put home a goal in the 116th minute to give Spain their first World Cup.
The goal gave La Furia Roja their second major championship in two years after they beat Germany in the Euro 2008 final.
Maxi Rodriguez 2006 World Cup vs. Mexico
2 of 15The 2006 edition of the World Cup was filled with drama in the knockout stage.
Six matches in the knockout stage ended in extra time or penalties and this was the first one to do so.
Maxi Rodriguez gave Argentina the lead and eventual win in the 98th minute over Mexico in the Round of 16.
Obafemi Martins 2011 Carling Cup vs. Arsenal

Obafemi Martins took advantage of a huge mistake by Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia in the 2011 Carling Cup final and gave Birmingham the Cup.
The goal helped give Birmingham their first League Cup since 1963 and a spot in the Europa League despite being relegated.
Peter Crouch 2011 UEFA Champions League vs. AC Milan

Spurs had topped the other Milan club, Inter, in the the group stage and thanks to Crouch's goal made a historic advancement into the quarterfinals at the hands of AC Milan.
Yaya Toure 2011 FA Cup Final vs. Stoke
5 of 15Yaya Toure made history this past May as he gave Manchester City their first trophy in 35 years and finally cemented City's place among the world's elite clubs.
Before his 74th-minute winner in the final, Toure also scored the winner against rivals Manchester United in the semifinals.
Didier Drogba 2007 FA Cup Final vs. Manchester United
6 of 15In the first FA Cup final at the new Wembley Stadium, Chelsea and Manchester United went well into extra time without scoring a goal and as it looked like the final would go to penalties, Didier Drogba struck.
Drogba scored in the 116th minute giving Chelsea the FA Cup, which at that point was their fourth trophy in the competition; they have since added two more to the trophy case.
Lionel Messi 2011 UEFA Champions League Final vs. Manchester United
7 of 15The world's best player, Lionel Messi, scored the game-winner for the world's best club, Barcelona, in the world's best club competition, the UEFA Champions League, in last season's final to defeat Manchester United.
Messi's 54th-minute goal put the Catalans on top for good as they cruised to victory over Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
Oliver Neuville 2006 World Cup vs. Poland
8 of 15After Germany's four-goal explosion in their first group game of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the Germans took on rivals Poland.
The Polish held the host Germans scoreless through the first 90 minutes but then in stoppage time, Oliver Neuville found the back of the net.
The German crowd in Dortmund erupted and the Polish section of the crowd was in disgust.
Now that Poland is co-hosting the Euro 2012 tournament, could the Polish finally get payback for this defeat to the Germans this summer?
Landon Donovan 2010 World Cup vs. Algeria

Facing elimination in the group stage, the American scored in the 90th minute to not only give his country a win in the match but the win in the group as well.
Andres Iniesta 2009 UEFA Champions League Semifinal vs. Chelsea
10 of 15Yet again Iniesta makes this list because of his heroics, this time for Barcelona.
In the third minute of stoppage time at Stamford Bridge, the Spanish midfielder drilled home a shot past Chelsea's Petr Cech to give Barcelona advancement to the final, which they eventually won, on away goals.
Fabio Grosso 2006 World Cup vs. Germany
11 of 15Germany and Italy were about to go to penalties in the 2006 FIFA World Cup semifinal when defender Fabio Grosso scored to send the Azzurri to the final.
Grosso's 119th-minute heroics were followed just two minutes later by Alessandro Del Piero to clinch Italy's victory over the host country and their spot in the final.
Cesc Fabregas 2007-08 UEFA Champions League vs. AC Milan
12 of 15Cesc Fabregas scored one of his most meaningful goals for Arsenal in the second leg of the Round of 16 match with AC Milan at the San Siro.
In the 84th minute, the Spanish international gave the Gunners the lead and it turned out to be the eventual winner.
Emmanuel Adebayor finished the scoring in that game for the Gunners but they could not advance past the quarterfinals as they lost in a high-scoring affair with Liverpool in the next round.
John Macken 2004 FA Cup vs. Tottenham
13 of 15The fourth-round replay between Tottenham and Manchester City in the 2003-04 FA Cup was a memorable one.
City was down 3-0 at one point and they managed to come back and tie Spurs before Macken headed in the final goal to give Kevin Keegan's club the win.
City lost in the Manchester derby in the fifth round of that season's competition to Manchester United.

Fabio Grosso 2006 World Cup vs. France
14 of 15Not only did Grosso defeat Germany in the semifinal round, but he won the World Cup for Italy in the next game against France.
Everyone remembers this game for a certain confrontation between Marco Materazzi and Zinedine Zidane, but it actually was one heck of a soccer match.
After added time, the match went to penalties tied at 1-1 and after David Trezeguet missed for France, Grosso was the fifth penalty-taker for the Azzurri and the rest is history.
Clint Dempsey 2009-10 Europa League vs. Juventus
15 of 15Fulham's miracle run to the Europa League final in 2010 started in an amazing comeback, beating Juventus 4-1 at home in the second leg of the Round of 16.
Dempsey's 82nd-minute goal gave the Cottagers the lead in the match and on aggregate and it moved them forwards in their run to the final.
After beating Juventus, the club managed by Roy Hodgson took down Wolfsburg in the quarterfinals and Hamburg in the semifinals before losing to Atletico Madrid in the final.
