The loss against LSU in Week 10 was difficult to overcome.
But now that the Crimson Tide is back on a roll, the only thing they need to do is beat Auburn and they will be the first team to secure a birth in the national title game.
Say what you want, but it is what it is and the lack of execution by other teams that were in the hunt have contributed to this scenario just as much as the BCS and the respective polls. Thanks Iowa State, Baylor and USC for exposing the weakness of previous arguments against a rematch.
And for those who say it isn't fair for a team who didn't play in their conference championship game to get a bid to the national title game, know this: It doesn't matter what you think!
And for those who hate Nick Saban: Deal with it!
Provided Alabama clears the hurdle against Auburn, Alabama is a lock.
If they don't clear that hurdle, they certainly don't deserve to be in the title game, and Saban would be the first to inform you of that little bit of truth.
But don't bet against the Crimson Tide because they are on a mission and they have a score to settle with little sister, a 27-28 score that is etched in the Iron Bowl and Auburn lore.
Let's hope they have enough digits on the scoreboard at Jordan-Hare to detail the results on Saturday. Now don't think Saban is running up the score, he'll just be making sure they have scored enough to close this chapter in the season and move on comfortably.
The best teams in the nation will play for the national championship, and it will likely be a rematch of one or the other scenario: Alabama vs. Arkansas or Alabama vs. LSU.
So take your pick, but one of the teams will most likely be wearing Crimson!
