Urban Meyer Ohio State Speculation: Meyer is Man To Bring Bucks Back to Elite

Just listening to Urban Meyer every week, you can almost hear in his voice that he misses the sidelines. He has earned the right to pick the right situation. I'm not sure there is a better situation in the country.

Meyer is an Ohio native. He also was a graduate assistant at Ohio State when he began his collegiate coaching career. The Ohio State program needs a presence and reputation like Meyer to re-establish credibility and stability.

A competitor like Meyer would relish the opportunity to revitalize another program, much like he did in Florida. Meyer put the Utah football program on the map; the Buckeyes have to be hoping that he will patrol their sidelines and work his magic for them as well. Meyer was 65-15 at Florida and 104-23 overall in his head coaching career that includes stints in Florida, Utah and Bowling Green.

He wants to coach again, and it will be at Ohio State. When that happens, the program won't miss a beat on the recruiting trail. Meyer successfully recruited Cam Newton (who would later end up at Auburn) and Carlos Dunlap. The Buckeyes will put distance between themselves and the next Big Ten team in regards to overall team athleticism.

Taking the job sooner than later gives Meyer the opportunity to play a bigger role in the development of Braxton Miller, the Buckeyes' very talented freshman QB. Meyer will lead the Buckeyes back to the top of the Big Ten, into national prominence and back into perennial national championship contention.

He is only 47 years old, he still has plenty to offer a program. Hopefully, Meyer has had all of the health issues addressed. That is the only thing that I see as a potential hurdle for him returning to coaching.
