NBA Lockout: Owners' Transparency Shows They're Ready to Make a Deal
There comes a point in every contract dispute or labor negotiations where one side feels they have given all that they can and made as many compromises as physically possible.
That’s where the owners are at this point.
The players have continued to be pig-headed during this matter and the constant lies told to the media are simply just a tactic used in negotiations.
While that’s a common move by the side with less leverage, trying to play on the heartstrings of the fans, the owners realized how to trump all the lies.
With the owners being as transparent as possible, the players are forced to ask the tough questions about why they can’t agree to the terms laid out in this latest proposal.
The points are clearly laid out in this plan, and it’s hard to see where the players would have such a holdup on this plan, especially considering just how far off the original proposal the owners have come.
Just like the players in the NFL lockout, the NBA stars need to figure out that they’re doing more damage to the sport than good, and missing games is only taking time and money off their own careers.
All the frenzy the stars of the league had created for the NBA over the years is being undermined by all this squabbling, and fans are getting tired of waiting.
If the players and owners really cared about the fans at all, they would hammer out the details and get this done like the NFL did.
As usual, it’s the little guy that gets screwed over in this situation.
At least we have the NHL!
