Week 11 College Football Predictions: Heisman Candidates Ready To Explode
We started the season off with a ton of Heisman candidates, but as always only a few actually lived up to that hype. Although a couple players would be Heisman candidates if it weren't for the lack of team success.
With a only a few weeks left in the regular season, it's time for everybody to make that last statement to prove why they deserve the most prestigious award in college football. Here are the candidates that could make a strong case this weekend in Week 11.
Stanford QB Andrew Luck
Of course Andrew Luck has to be on this list. He is without question the best quarterback in college football and is the favorite to win the award, leading the Cardinal to an undefeated record. He's thrown for 2,424 yards and 26 touchdowns, all while limiting himself to only five interceptions.
The problem is he has yet to have a statement game (unless you count the game against USC) and for the most part has had a weak schedule. He can probably lock the award up with a victory and strong performance against the highly ranked Oregon Ducks this weekend.
Boise State QB Kellen Moore
Much like Luck, Kellen Moore hasn't played anybody worth mentioning this season but the difference is the schedule doesn't get any harder for Boise State the rest of the way. He does have the numbers though with 2,229 passing yards and 29 touchdowns passes but the lack of competition hurts him.
The Broncos will play TCU this weekend and although they may not be the same Horned Frogs from years past they are still a talented group. So much that some critics are giving them a chance to upset Boise this weekend. If Moore can go off and throw for 300 yards and four touchdown passes, he'll still be behind Luck but he'll give himself a punchers chance.
Oregon Ducks RB LaMichael James
While I don't think James has any chance to win the Heisman he has a chance to jump a few candidates with a strong performance this weekend. James is playing in the biggest game of the year for the Ducks and has a chance to shatter Stanford's National Championship dreams.
Although he did miss two games this year due to an elbow injury he still has over 1,100 total yards and 10 total touchdowns. Finish the season strong against Stanford and USC and he could at least receive an invite to New York.
