College Football Recruiting 2012: The Top Visits to Watch out for Coming Up

Edwin WeathersbyNov 10, 2011

With the college season going on, as is the recruiting cycle, this portion is when we really began to see a good number of visits start to happen.

The official visit is such an important and imperative piece of the puzzle that is getting a prospect to sign with your school. Some programs prefer you come by during the season so they can show off their game day atmosphere, while others prefer January visits so they focus more on hosting you and getting to know you.

Here are some of the top visits coming up.

6. Josh Garnett to Michigan on 11-18 and Oklahoma on 11-25

1 of 6

Ann Arbor will get to size up the big OL prospect from Washington on the 18th of this month. Garnett has been pretty impressed with Michigan, so pay attention to this visit.

The following week will see him head to Norman to check out the Sooners. Oklahoma has made a surge and is on Garnett's trail pretty thoroughly.

Two good visits to watch out for.

5. Stefon Diggs to Florida on 11-26

2 of 6

Stefon Diggs is one of the very best offensive players in the country, and Florida is looking to get him to Gainesville permanently.

Diggs will be visiting UF on the 26th this month for the showdown with heated rival Florida State. Interestingly enough, FSU is also a school under consideration by Diggs.

4. Jordan Jenkins to Georgia This Weekend

3 of 6

Aside from the Keith Marshall visit earlier this fall, this could be the biggest visit for UGA this reruiting year.

Mark Richt talks about keeping players from the Peach State in the Peach State. Well, Jordan Jenkins fits that mold.

Jenkins will be in Athens this weekend, and Georgia has ground to make up since Alabama and Florida look to be ahead of them right now.

3. Avery Young to Georgia on 11-19

4 of 6

The 5-star OL will pay Georgia a visit as well, only he will check in on the 19th of this month.

Georgia has some family ties to Young, and he says he is not against relocating back to the Peach State at all. This is another mega-sized weekend visit for UGA's 2012 recruiting cycle.

Alabama, Auburn and Florida are other schools in the mix.

2. Andrus Peat to Nebraska on 11-26

5 of 6

The nation's top uncommitted OL prospect will go see his brother on Nov. 26. Oh, right; he'll also be on a visit to Nebraska, too.

His brother, Stephen, is a DL on the Cornhusker roster, and Andrus has said that he thinks Nebraska will always be in the race until the very end when he decides.

You bet your bottom dollar Bo Pelini will be playing the family card to Peat all throughout this visit.

1. Dorial Green-Beckham to Texas on 11-19

6 of 6

DGB will head on down to the Lone Star State and see Austin next weekend. Texas has made a big surge for the 6'6", 220-pound WR, and them getting a visit from him is a great sign.

Green-Beckham will see the Longhorns play Kansas State and survey the program on an official visit. Mack Brown and Bryan Harsin have a lot to offer the talented WR.

Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas are other schools in the mix.
