BCS Rankings: Stanford and More Teams in Week 11 Must-Win Situations
It's crazy to think we're approaching Week 11 of the college football season, but now more than ever, teams are in need of a big win on Saturday.
There aren't many games left, which means certain teams have to strengthen their resumé in the coming weeks.
A loss on Saturday will ruin any hopes of a BCS National Title run for some, and others would miss out on reaching a BCS bowl.
Here are three teams in must-win situations in Week 11.
No. 4 Stanford
Andrew Luck will try for revenge this Saturday in hopes of knocking down the No. 7 Oregon Ducks. The last time Stanford lost a game was in October of 2010, which happened to come at the hands of the Ducks.
If Stanford wants to play for the BCS National Championship Game, the Cardinal must beat Oregon on Saturday.
This is the toughest game Stanford will play all season, and a win on Saturday could push the Cardinal to No. 2 in the BCS.
No. 19 Nebraska
The Cornhuskers choked last weekend and lost to Northwestern, which put them in a tough spot for the rest of the season.
With two conference losses, Nebraska has to win out and get a little luck if it wants to play for the Big Ten title.
The No. 12 Penn State Nittany Lions will host the Cornhuskers this Saturday, and they'll be looking to spoil Nebraska's dreams.
This is going to be a very physical game, as both teams have solid defenses. Nebraska has to walk away victorious, or they could fall out of the Top 25.
No. 15 Georgia
The Bulldogs host one of their most hated rivals in the No. 20 Auburn Tigers this weekend, and it's a game Georgia has to win.
If the Bulldogs win out, they will play for the SEC Championship game.
However, should they fall to Auburn in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry, Georgia will need the South Carolina Gamecocks to lose to the Florida Gators on Saturday.
The Bulldogs can't out their fate in another teams hands, which is why they have to beat the Tigers in Week 11.
