BCS Bowl Projections: Why Stanford Is a Lock for BCS Title Game
All of this talk about Alabama working their way back to a BCS title berth is nonsense.
Oklahoma State, Stanford and Boise State are all undefeated, and Stanford and Boise State will finish as such. There is no way to justify putting one-loss Alabama ahead of undefeated Stanford, and a BCS Title berth is imminent.
Stanford has a signature win over USC, and will earn another against Oregon at home next week. While they don't have Oklahoma State or Alabama's ridiculous strength of schedule, both of those teams will have a loss at the end of the season that will exclude them from the BCS Title Game.
Oklahoma State has the best team they've put forth in program history. They've been outstanding this season, but they've still got Oklahoma lying ahead. Oklahoma dropped a game against Texas Tech, but Landry Jones and the Sooners still set the standard in that conference.
Boise State doesn't have any challenges in front of them. Kellen Moore is going to lead the Broncos to yet another undefeated season, but as we've seen, that has never equated to a BCS Championship shot for Boise State.
They are proof that the system is flawed, but if two teams from major conferences go undefeated—which they will—they are going to be written off once again.
It's not fair, but it's a challenge the Broncos face year in and year out.
They go out of their way to take on decent teams and people still make excuses to justify why they are undeserving of being given a shot.
Oklahoma State has survived their schedule thus far and essentially, they control their destiny.
That being said, Stanford has the best chance of all the teams of going undefeated aside from Boise State. Unlike the Broncos, an unblemished record will allow them to coast into the National Championship over better and more deserving teams.
