BCS Projections: Ohio State and Teams That Will Find Top 25 By End of Season

Michael MillNov 6, 2011

There are many teams in the college football world that got off to slow starts in the 2011 college football seasons.

Some completely fell off the grid, but others have rebounded and are currently fighting for a spot in the Top 25 rankings.

Here are three teams still outside the Top 25 that will burst into the rankings before the season ends.

Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes had one of the most disappointing offseasons in all of college football.

The big losses they suffered were quarterback Terrelle Pryor and head coach Jim Tressel.

It took the Buckeyes a while to get things in rhythm. They started off the season 3-3 with losses to Miami, Michigan State and Nebraska.

However, they have really got things rolling in recent weeks. They have wins against ranked opponents Illinois and Wisconsin. This week they took out Indiana.

If they can finish the season strong, going at least 2-1, they should squeak into the Top 25.

Cincinnati Bearcats

Right now, Cincinnati is the best unranked team in the nation.

They are sitting at a 7-1 record, much better than most of the teams ranked ahead of them. The only knock on the Bearcats is the lack of competition they have faced.

It doesn't make too much sense, since they have faced Big East opponents just like West Virginia.

They should head into the rankings if they can take West Virginia out next week.

The Bearcats boast the 11th ranked scoring offense and the 19th ranked scoring defense.

TCU Horned Frogs

If there is any team remaining on Boise State's schedule that could potentially pull off an upset, it's the Horned Frogs.

TCU isn't quite the same team they have been in past years. Their defense isn't quite the powerhouse they were for the last few seasons.

However, the offense has picked up in that category. They are averaging 41.6 points per game.

TCU should win the remainder of their games, excluding the matchup against Boise State. Even if they lose that matchup, they should still find a way into the very bottom of the rankings by season's end.
