LSU vs. Alabama: Nick Saban Will Outcoach Les Miles and Lead Tide to Victory

Nick Saban and Les Miles are two of the greatest college football coaches in the game right now. However, Saban is a notch above and is possibly one of the greatest college coaches ever.

Now they have their two marquee programs meeting up for a BCS No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup that will have implications affecting how the rest of the season shakes out for not just LSU and Alabama, but the rest of the top teams with BCS championship game hopes.

This will be the 75th meeting between the two teams and the fifth since Nick Saban joined Alabama after his successful tenure at LSU.

The teams are currently split at 2-2 over the last four matchups and now will break the tie, at least for now, in the first ever No. 1 vs. No. 2 SEC matchup during the regular season.

The game will be decided starting on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa at 8 p.m. EDT. It has the chance to be one of the best regular-season games, not just of the year, but of all time.

Saban has led the Tigers to a national title in 2003 and the Crimson Tide in 2009. Miles won the national title with the 2007 Tigers. Miles is also known as being the successful replacement for Saban after he skipped town and joined the NFL before heading to Alabama.

The two teams, their fans and their alumni, quite frankly, hate each other. What Saban did by leaving only fueled the fire to epic proportions.

Trent Richardson, the Heisman candidate and beastly RB for the Crimson Tide, talked with ESPN, and it appears Saban has the edge by having his boys calm for their biggest game.

'In big games like this, we don’t panic and stay calm and try to play our game and play it like we’ve never played it before, like this is our last down we’re going to play,' Richardson said. 'You never know. That’s what I try to remind everybody about. You can’t slack off. There are no friends on the field.'

Saban has the confidence and inspirational abilities that rub off on his players, and he is unable to get rattled, even in the most pressured scenarios. That is what separates him from every other coach in the game and what makes his teams consistently the best in football.

And that is why he will win on Saturday.
