Kim Kardashian Divorce: Charity Donation a Weak Attempt to Stop Backlash
Kim Kardashian posted a message for her fans on Tuesday in hopes of gaining some support following her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries. Within the apologetic blog, the reality television star said she'll donate money to charity instead of returning wedding gifts (via Associated Press).
"In her post, Kardashian says she plans to "donate the money for all the gifts to the Dream Foundation."
The couple's $172,000 wedding registry included such items as a $1,650 coffee pot and two $1,250 sterling silver vegetable spoons.

It's nothing but another publicity stunt aimed toward quieting her critics, of which there are many following the marriage debacle.
Her actions will need to go beyond doing the right thing to regain the general public's respect.
What's tough to comprehend is that the marriage lasted only 72 days and there didn't appear to be much effort on her part to save it. Nobody can force her to remain married of course, but it would have been nice to see some attempt at reconciliation before calling it quits and jetting off to Australia.
Sadly, many of the same people who are contributing to the Twitter hashtag “things longer than Kim's marriage” will tune in when E! airs the divorce episodes in the coming months.
Remaining relevant to further her personal brand has always been Kardashian's main goal and she accomplished that. However, you have to wonder if the negative backlash will end up costing her more than she expected when she filed those papers.
One thing for sure is that nobody is buying her charity donation as genuine remorse. There's probably hidden reasons for that decision as well.
