Indianapolis Colts: The Andrew Luck Sweepstakes Is Theirs to Lose
If current performances are any indication of who will be earning the rights of receiving the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL draft, then the Indianapolis Colts are officially on the clock.
The Colts are trailing the Tennessee Titans by a 20-0 margin on the road going into halftime—a team that dropped a 41-7 decision to the Houston Texans as three-point home favorites just a week ago.
Indianapolis is obviously a franchise built around a franchise-type quarterback, as star Peyton Manning will likely not take a snap during the 2011 season due to a neck injury.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Manning has watched his teammates get outscored by an 82-7 margin in the team's last six quarters of action, not to mention coming off a humiliating 62-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints on last week's Sunday Night Football broadcast—a Saints team that came into this week's game against the St. Louis Rams as overwhelming 13.5-point road favorites, but is trailing 17-0 at the break.
The Colts' main opposition at this point of potentially being able to draft Stanford Cardinal quarterback Andrew Luck is the Miami Dolphins, who went into halftime with a lead for the second consecutive week.
It will be an interesting fall and winter in the Indianapolis area, as the only NFL game to look forward to is hosting the Super Bowl XLVI inside Lucas Oil Stadium on Feb. 5, 2012.
Then again, the biggest prize of all may come when commissioner Roger Goodell says the team is officially on the clock.
