College Football Week 9: Sickest Highlights from Saturday's Games

Brian MaziqueOct 29, 2011

There were some sizzling plays and some bonehead plays that caught my attention this weekend. Amazing catches, amazing runs and a few things in between.

Missouri's James Franklin checks in as he helped his Missouri Tigers upset No. 16 Texas A&M, but he isn't alone. Check out the sickest plays of the weekend.

7. Toussaint Fitzgerald's 59-Yd TD Run vs Purdue

1 of 7

The man named for a historic Haitian revolutionary helped conquer and sail past the Purdue Boilermakers with this long TD run. DeNard Robinson allowed his teammate to share the highlights this week.

The Wolverines will be in Iowa next week in yet another huge Big Ten matchup.

Boneheaded and Dirty Special Teams Play by Marquel Wade

2 of 7

This was one of the dumbest and dirtiest plays of the season. Marquel Wade shows his speed, insanity and lack of discipline in a 15 minute span.

Arkansas was able to escape after this play with a narrow loss after Vanderbilt missed a chip shot FG. Arkansas deserved to lose after this display of poor discipline and sportsmanship.

Jeff Demps 99-Yard Kick off Return for a Td

3 of 7

How fast is Jeff Demps? This is a pretty open running lane, but the acceleration is amazing. He will be doing this on Sundays within the next two years.

The Gators were unable to pull out the victory but Demps play was an awesome display of pure speed.

Colin Klein 42-Yard TD Run vs Oklahoma

4 of 7

Win or lose, Kansas State and Klein have grabbed a measure of respect. This great run by Klein got his team right back in the game.

Klein and the Wildcats were very competitive for the first half but the Sooners pulled away in the second half. They are still holding out hope for a shot at the National Championship.

Jaz Reynolds Circus Catch

5 of 7

Not much was cooler than all that Jaz. Jaz Reynolds amazing circus catch was followed by nice TD grab. But as far as pretty plays, this was one of the best.

Jaz put together another one handed grab later in the game and the Sooners showed their superiority over another Big 12 opponent.

DeJuan Miller One Foot Down in the Back of the Endzone

6 of 7

DeJuan Miller showed great body control and hands, pulling down this nice catch for the Sooners. Miller showed that the Sooners receiving corp runs deeper than Jaz Reynolds and Ryan Broyles.

Miller played his part in the Sooners early attack against the Wildcats.

James Franklin Spin Cycle

7 of 7

Looking more like a RB than a QB, James Franklin helps spur his Tigers to the upset win over the Aggies. Franklin is on his way as only a sophomore he has engineered a nice win over a top 20 team. Next week, the Tigers take on a reeling Baylor team that was blown out by the Oklahoma St. Cowboys.
