BCS Rankings: Wisconsin Badgers and Teams That Will Fail This Week

T.J. McaloonOct 28, 2011

It is very easy to get swept up in your own hype in today’s sports world. You see yourself on television, you can watch your highlights on YouTube, you can see how many people are Tweeting about you or athletes can just walk onto their campuses and see how people are in awe of them.

But, it’s getting caught up in that hype that leads to teams that take a big fall. They lose track not only in the regular polls but also the BCS Standings.

These teams that start to lose open up a can of failure that sometimes is too hard to close back up.

Because, by the time they are able to regain their winning ways, it may be to late.

Here are three teams that will suffer a loss this week, sending them further down the BCS Standings.

No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers

Wisconsin came within a Hail Mary pass from forcing overtime and saving their undefeated season. But the pass connected, resulting in a crushing upset.

However, that's in the past. Now, they have to pick up the pieces by heading into Ohio State to play a tough game under the lights in the “Horseshoe.”

Ohio State has proven this season that they can play with the best teams in college football. They played Nebraska tough, before losing after giving up 20 points. But when this Ohio State team can limit their mistakes and play a physical defense, as they did against Illinois, they can and will pull off the upset.

Wisconsin hopefully does not see this game against Ohio State as a bounce-back game, as Ohio State is going to give them a very tough game come Saturday night.

No. 8 Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas State is the team that the college football world is waiting on to fail. They came into this season with no hype about their team, but have surprised us all by posting an undefeated season so far.

But that will come crashing down this week, as the Wildcats play their toughest team yet this year.

Oklahoma has not lost in back-to-back games since the ’99 season and will not lose this week.

No. 11 Michigan State Spartans

Michigan State did have a great win last week and the week before that against Michigan. However, both of those wins came at home, where Michigan State had the whole city of East Lansing behind them.

This week, the Spartans travel to Lincoln, where Nebraska has their sea of red waiting for them.

The Spartans can expect to see a lot of Taylor Martinez and Rex Burkhead running the ball down their throats.

These three teams all have had great seasons so far. However, this Saturday it will all come to a sudden stop, as they will suffer upsetting defeats.
