LSU Football: Top 10 BCS Title Games Fans Would Like to See
The LSU Tigers have looked unbeatable through eight weeks of the college football season.
Les Miles' teams have won every game in dominant fashion thus far, and the Tigers will have their biggest challenge staring them down in two weeks when they will take on Alabama on Nov. 5 in what many consider to be "the game of the decade."
If LSU does indeed get passed Alabama and finish the season with an undefeated record, who would they play in the BCS National Championship game?
Better yet, who would the fans most like to see play in the National Championship Game?
Let's break down 10 National Title Games that college football fans would most like to see.
10. Alabama vs. Boise State
1 of 10If Alabama beats LSU, it is almost certain that the Tide would stamp a spot in the National Title game.
But who will their opponent be?
Fans have different feelings on Boise State, but most of them don't want to see the Broncos go undefeated and get left out of the title game yet again.
This game would give the college football world a chance to see how good Boise State really is.
9. LSU vs. Clemson
2 of 10Clemson has an interesting story attached to its team.
On one end, not many respect the ACC, therefore, it would be upsetting for some to see a team from that conference be represented in the National Championship game. But on the other end, it would be intriguing to see this Clemson team play against a team of LSU's caliber to see just how good they really are.
Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins have shown to be one of, if not the best 1-2 punch in the country this season. It would be fun to see how they would fare against this dominant LSU defense.
Mathieu on Watkins—sounds like a dream matchup.
8. Alabama vs. Oregon
3 of 10We all know how good Oregon's offense is.
We all know how good Alabama's defense is.
So, therefore, wouldn't it be a treat to see these two dominant units go up against one another on college football's biggest stage?
If Alabama held on to that lead against Auburn last season, this would have been the BCS National Championship game.
Now, if 'Bama can get by LSU and Oregon by Stanford, they might have another chance.
7. LSU vs. Boise State
4 of 10This game would feature one of the best offenses in the country vs. one of the best defenses in the country.
Everyone in the college football world would like to know if Boise State can hang with the big boys? We saw them beat up on Georgia in Week 1, but LSU is a whole new ballgame.
Wouldn't it be a wonderful closing to Kellen Moore's legacy if he went out with a BCS title win over the No. 1-ranked team in the country?
I think so.
6. Alabama vs. Oklahoma State
5 of 10Through eight weeks of the college football season, we have seen Oklahoma State dominate every single defense that has been thrown its way.
But what would happen if they met Alabama's dominant defensive unit?
As it stands right now, if Alabama beat LSU and OK State beats Oklahoma, this game would have a very good chance at being the BCS title game.
5. LSU vs. Oregon
6 of 10This game would be a rematch of the Week 1 shootout we saw at Cowboys Stadium.
In that game, LSU's dominant defense got the best of Oregon's explosive offense. But at the same time, several key players were missing from that game including LSU's Jordan Jefferson and Oregon's Cliff Harris.
Both of these teams have gotten better than they were in Week 1, and as hyped up as that game was, this game would be even more.
4. LSU vs. Oklahoma State
7 of 10If LSU beats Alabama and Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma, this has perhaps the best chance to be the national title game.
Oklahoma State has the best 1-2 quarterback-receiver combo in the country and LSU has the best defensive backfield in the country. That makes for what would be an incredible matchup to watch.
Fans love offense, and Oklahoma State provides plenty of that. But don't look past LSU's offense as well, who has put their opponents to shame this year.
This would be a great one to tune into.
3. Alabama vs. Stanford
8 of 10Right now, Stanford does not appear to be a favorite to play in the National Championship game. But that is because the Cardinal have played a pretty weak schedule up to this point.
That will all change soon.
Stanford plays USC, Oregon and Notre Dame soon, which will boost their BCS ranking.
This would be an exceptional game between two teams that have been dominant over the past couple of years.
2. LSU vs. Stanford
9 of 10Could you imagine seeing Andrew Luck take on LSU's defense?
One would have to get the best of the other, right?
We have seen Luck at his best, and there isn't a better passer in the nation. We have seen LSU's defense and those cornerbacks at their best, and there's not a better unit in the country.
So how exciting would it be if we could get the treat of watching these two powerhouses square off on college football's biggest stage?
This would be one for the ages.
1. LSU vs. Alabama
10 of 10Yes, yes, I know these teams are going to meet in a regular season matchup in less than two weeks.
But let's be real here. This game is the true National Championship. This Nov. 5 matchup is the "game of the decade."
This game is the true No.1 vs. the true No.2, and the best part about it is, we aren't sure who is No.1 and who is No. 2 until they meet in Tuscaloosa.
But if this game is as good as we all believe it will be, why wouldn't we want to see a rematch on a neutral field?
The two best teams should rightfully play in the National Championship game, and almost everyone in America would be foolish not to agree that these are indeed the two top teams.
We can only hope that the BCS sees it the same way.
