John Terry Racist Video: Alleged Slur Directed at Anton Ferdinand Sparks Outrage

John Terry has been accused of directing a racial slur at Anton Ferdinand, but the fact that the accusations have been made via social media and Ferdinand himself has not accused Terry directly of using the racial slur suggest this is nothing more than a giant understanding.

If these allegations had come from Ferdinand or someone else who had been on the field at the time, this would be a completely different story.

The fact that he is under fire from a social-media whirlwind makes the legitimacy of his racist remarks questionable. Everyone is on their toes after Luis Suarez went through something similar earlier in the month, but unless we can get confirmation from someone involved in the situation who may have heard the slur firsthand, it's not going to amount to anything at all.

Expect this situation to fizzle quickly. Andre Villas-Boas says Terry has Chelsea's complete support. That doesn't sound like a manager who believes the situation was anything more than a matter of speculation and false, unwarranted intrigue.

Terry approached Ferdinand after the game for an explanation for the accused racism. The two sorted out the miscommunication internally, but people around the world couldn't help themselves once they caught wind that there may have been a racist slur dropped during the match.

The Football Association is investigating, but given the way this has played out thus far, it's hard to believe they are going to find anything significant.
