Rice vs. Houston: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More

Andrew KulhaOct 25, 2011

The upcoming game between the Rice Owls and Houston Cougars may very well be one of the most underrated match-ups of the 2011 college football season.

No offense to Rice fans, but it has more to do with Houston than anything else.

Quarterback Case Keenum just became the NCAA's all-time leader in total offensive production and is quietly leading his 7-0 Cougars to an undefeated season.

It's not as if the Cougars are barely squeaking by, though. They currently have the nations No. 1-ranked offense and it shouldn't slow down at all this week against the Owls.

Where: Robertson Stadium, Houston, TX

When: Thursday Oct. 27. 8 p.m EDT

Watch: FSN Houston

Listen: 1560 AM The Game; Sports Talk 790 AM

Stream: riceowls.com; uhcougars.com

Betting Line (Bodog.com): Houston -28

Key Storyline: The year that Keenum and the Cougars are having is truly special, but they aren't getting much press over it. I expect Houston to continue this roll, but I wonder how many people will actually care.

Who Might Not Play for Rice: Wide receiver Randy Kitchens questionable (ankle), cornerback Chris Jammer questionable (head), linebacker Trey Briggs questionable (knee).

Who Might Not Play for Houston: No major injuries to report.

BCS/Top 25 Implications:

Houston believes they are a legitimate undefeated team and are ranked No.17 in the nation. I think they are being underrated by the BCS, but if they continue winning there will be no way to ignore them.

What They're Saying: Sam Khan Jr. of Chron.com gives you all the information you need to know about the Rice Owls. Did you know this is their first non-Saturday game since 2008?

ESPN.com is reporting that Houston has gotten permission to move out of Conference USA and into a new conference. We've been talking about how they aren't getting enough credit or press during their great season, so perhaps this would do the trick.

Rice Player to Watch:

Quarterback Taylor McHargue is going to have quite a matchup trying to keep up with Houston. He's put up some decent numbers so far, but I'm not sure his offense will be able to hang with the Cougars.

Houston Player to Watch:

Obviously Case Keenum is going to be the player you're going to want to watch. He's put up 2,685 and 23 touchdowns so far this year.

Key Matchup:

Will Rice's defense even be able to stop the Cougars' powerful offense?

On the Hotseat:

I have to go right back with the Owls' defense on this one. There is going to be a ton of pressure on them to stop Keenum, but I don't think they will be able to.

Prediction:

This is an almost laughable mismatch.

Houston: 51 Rice: 17
