Boise State Broncos Football: How They Make It to the National Championship
The Boise State Broncos seem to consistently find themselves among the BCS Top Five and yet still haven't found a chance at a BCS National Title with continued success.
Kellen Moore has led the Broncos to an undefeated season thus far and barring any major flukes, they should finish the season undefeated and have a chance at going to the national championship. Although the path there is probably unlikely, this slideshow will show that it will be possible for them to make it to the national championship game.
With a little luck, the Broncos may finally end up where they belong.
1. Boise Can Easily Finish Undefeated
1 of 4The Broncos remaining schedule only includes one tough game with TCU at home, then three more games against easy opponents. They will easily finish the season undefeated and put themselves in the best position to make it to the national championship.
Kellen Moore makes minimal mistakes and barring a freak accident like last year at Nevada, the Broncos will stay undefeated and Moore will have shattered a few more records.
If they stay undefeated they keep themselves in the mix.
2. The Field Will Eliminate Themselves
2 of 4Although a long shot, the field could potentially eliminate themselves from contention with losses.
Oklahoma State could drop the last regular season game against Oklahoma, who is still a very good team and will be looking to play spoiler to the Cowboys and put themselves in the Big 12 Championship. Oklahoma knows how to play in this situation a little more and Stoops will right the ship to defeat the Cowboys.
With a critical game against a very good Oregon team, Stanford still stands a very high chance of losing even with Andrew Luck on their side, losing to Oregon is a very high possibility.
Clemson still has to play South Carolina, who can win that game even with Marucs Lattimore having to sit out the rest of the season.
LSU and Alabama play each other, and one will end up with a loss.
3. Voters Will Feel for Kellen Moore's Senior Year
3 of 4After the rest of the title contenders seemingly find themselves with one loss, voters will feel for Kellen Moore and his lack of chances at the title.
They will propel the Boise State Broncos to No. 2 in the USA and Harris Polls, the computers will seem to agree and propel them to an average position of two or three in the computers and allow them a chance at the national championship.
4. Everyone Secretly Would Root for the Underdog
4 of 4I mean how tired are we of seeing the SEC win national championships? Well, at least some of us are. I know that if Boise State made the title game I'd be cheering for them.
If we look at March Madness everybody loves the underdogs, look at the mass appeal of the VCU Rams we saw last season. Those that root for the underdog should and will be pulling for Boise State. They deserve the chance and have shown themselves plenty capable of winning BCS games.
Boise State has a possibility to make the title game and should be given the chance.
