BCS Rankings: Wisconsin and Teams That Rebound in Week 9
The controversy following the release of the BCS Rankings this week may be worse than any in recent history.
Luckily, the rankings still have a few weeks to sort themselves out.
We can only hope.
There were a lot of upsets last week that resulted in some major changes in the rankings, including drops of two undefeated teams.
Here are three teams that fell last week that will rebound in Week 9.
No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers
One of the teams that plummeted the farthest from last week is the Wisconsin Badgers.
Wisconsin lost on one of the most improbable finishes in college football history. A hail mary that was overturned to a touchdown on replay on the final play of the game has killed the Badgers' BCS dreams.
Despite this, they still have a shot at finishing the season strong and making it into the Top 10.
This week Wisconsin takes on an Ohio State team that has struggled to find an identity without Terrelle Pryor at quarterback.
The Badgers should have this one well in hand.
No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners
One of the more surprising undefeated teams to go down was the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Sooners lost to an unranked Texas Tech team, but for some reason took a fall much less than that of Wisconsin.
There are some who believe that Oklahoma could still have a shot at the National Championship if they win out. However, they will face a big step this weekend against the undefeated Kansas State Wildcats.
The Sooners have something to prove after their embarrassing loss last week. They are the better team and this week they will play like it.
No. 23 Auburn Tigers
The Auburn Tigers are the only team currently in the Top 25 rankings with three losses on their record.
Those three losses came against teams that are all ranked in the Top 10 and they have very impressive wins against other top tier teams as well.
Last week Auburn was crushed by the LSU Tigers by a final score of 45-10.
This embarrassed Auburn team will look to come back strong in Week 9 against Ole Miss. The Rebels shouldn't stand a chance.
