BCS Rankings: Nebraska Cornhuskers and 3 Teams That Will Fall After Week 9

Eric BowmanOct 24, 2011

Some huge upsets resulted in big changes to the second BCS rankings of the 2011 college football season, and the changes in the polls will continue after Week 9.

Multiple teams are on upset alert this weekend, and a loss on Saturday will definitely have big impact on the BCS.

Here are three teams that will suffer a Week 9 loss and drop in the BCS rankings.

No. 14 Nebraska

The Cornhuskers will host the surging Michigan State Spartans on Saturday, and they're going to lose their second Big Ten game of the season.

The Spartans' confidence is sky high right now, and they'll use it to win on the road. Both teams have great defenses, but it will be Michigan State's offense that prevails in the end.

No. 8 Kansas State

The Wildcats will host the Oklahoma Sooners this weekend, and they will no longer be undefeated. The Sooners will rebound strong after an embarrassing loss to Texas Tech this past Saturday.

Landry Jones and Ryan Broyles will make sure the Sooners are still in the hunt for the BCS title, as the Wildcats won't be prepared for their most difficult test so far this season.

No. 19 Penn State

The Nittany Lions haven't beaten anyone of worth yet this season, and that won't change when they fall to the Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday.

Joe Paterno's squad is benefiting in the polls because its one loss this season came at the hands of the No. 2 in the country. Illinois has lost two games in a row, but they will bounce back and show that their early-season success was not a fluke.
