BCS Rankings: Kansas State and 3 Teams Sure to Drop After Week 9

Brian LendinoOct 23, 2011

The new BCS rankings are out, and there are a ton of new faces.

Some teams have made huge jumps, and some have taken massive hits.

But nonetheless, you must play the game and Week 9 brings us some very solid matchups.

Surely we won't see any Wisconsin-Michigan State excitement, but what we will see are a few ranked teams see their games result in losses.

Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas State just annihilated the Kansas Jayhawks 59-21 and roll into their showdown with Oklahoma at 7-0.

They won't leave 8-0.

Kansas State is a good football team, don't get me wrong, but Oklahoma will be hungry.

Oklahoma was just upset at home by Texas Tech, putting their national championship hopes in the balance. I expect them to play every single game like it's their last—essentially because it is.

Oklahoma wins. K-State falls.

South Carolina Gamecocks

The Gamecocks get the Tennessee Volunteers in Week 9. They will not win that game.

Without star running back Marcus Lattimore South Carolina's season is essentially over. It's quite unfortunate, too, because Lattimore and the 'cocks had series SEC East hopes.

Steve Spurrier is a great coach, but the truth of the matter is that with all of the turmoil surrounding the program right now, the Gamecocks won't leave Knoxville alive.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

In Week 9 Nebraska draws the hottest team in the nation—Michigan State.

I like this week's Nebraska-Michigan State game to be the most exciting one of the day, and rightfully so as both teams come ranked in the Top 15.

Despite being at home, Nebraska will ultimately fall to the defensive-minded Spartans, rightfully putting the Spartans into the driver's seat for the Big 12 championship.
