BCS Rankings 2011: Complete Standings, Twitter Reaction and More
As you may have noticed, things got a little wild in Week 8 of the college football season. But lest you start relaxing, there is still more wildness to come on Sunday night.
This is because the BCS rankings are going to be updated very shortly. The first rankings featured what seemed to be a rock-solid Top 10, but Oklahoma and Wisconsin both suffered shocking defeats on Saturday. Make no mistake about it, their losses are going to lead to a few changes.
For all the latest on these changes and everything else you need/want to know about the BCS, check back here periodically for updates.

Let's hit the Twitterverse for some BCS reaction, shall we?
Concerning Oklahoma's tumble from No. 3 all the way to No. 9, John E. Hoover of the Tulsa World is actually a little optimistic. Well, kinda:
Meanwhile, USA Today college football scribe Erick Smith is legitimately optimistic about Oklahoma State's chances at a title run:
As for the budding controversy that is Boise State being placed ahead of Clemson, college football writer Reginald Eller has some insight on how the rooting system will break down from this point forward:
For you Big Ten fans out there, Bleacher Report's own Michael Schottey has a gripe about Wisconsin being below Nebraska:
All told, pretty typical stuff so far. Despite the fact the BCS is billed as a ranking system to end all ranking systems, it does tend to get a lot of things wrong in the eyes of the football-crazed public.
That same public, by the way, would like nothing more than to get a playoff one day. For our sins, it seems we shall never get one.

If you're at all curious what the rankings might look like, ESPN BCS expert Brad Edwards gave his two cents on Saturday night:
We'll see if Edwards is correct, but it would definitely be a surprise if Alabama overtakes LSU for the No. 1 spot. It will be just as interesting to see where Oklahoma and Wisconsin end up after their losses.
We'll know soon enough.
