BCS Standings: Georgia Tech and More Teams About to Drop out of Top 25
The new BCS Rankings are set to be revealed in about an hour, and here's a look three teams—who are currently ranked—that won't find themselves in the new rankings.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech had an impressive 6-0 start to their season, but a regression was almost expected because they hadn't played too many tough opponents.
Well, that regression finally came the last two weeks. The Yellow Jackets lost their second consecutive on Saturday against an up-and-down Miami team, 24-7.
Georgia Tech's famous triple-option was never able to get going, and that stunted their whole offense. It just wasn't a good day for the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Tech is currently ranked 23rd, but their lack of quality wins is going to make it impossible to justify a top-25 ranking.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Similar to Georgia Tech, Illinois won its first six games only to now lose two in a row. Their second loss came yesterday at a pretty disappointing Purdue team.
When it comes down to it, there's no way Illinois can stay ranked after that ugly loss. They have a nice win against Arizona State from earlier in the year, but other than that, they haven't done all that much.
Illinois has been a nice story so far this year, but they can so goodbye to the Top 25.
Washington Huskies
The Huskies are another nice story, as they are really starting to turn into a good team after winning zero games just three years ago.
They are working their way back to the top of the Pac-12, but it became clear last night they just aren't in the same class as Stanford or Oregon.
Stanford worked over the Huskies to the tune of 65-21. It wasn't all that pretty for the No. 25 Huskies. They will surely drop out of the Top 25, but it shouldn't be long before this young Washington team is back.
