BCS Rankings: Texas Tech and New Faces We're Sure To See in This Week's Rankings

Week 8 of the college football season was one for the ages. No one was safe, and two of the nation's Top Six teams fell hard.

Conventionally, when one team falls, another one must rise.

Now while there was a shake up at the top, there was even more chaos at the bottom—four of the bottom six teams lost and now see their BCS spots at stake.

With just hours until the new BCS rankings are revealed, here are a few teams that will make our acquaintance as new faces in this week's Top 25.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have seemingly flown under the radar the entire season and now find themselves sitting at 5-2, fresh off a monumental upset of No. 3 Oklahoma.

Boasting the third-highest passing attack, quarterback Seth Doege and his wide receivers love to move the ball through the air.

For them, it looks like their air attack will vault them safely into the BCS Top 25.

USC Trojans

Most people expected the USC-Notre Dame game from this past weekend to be one featuring two highly-ranked powerhouses.

However, neither were ranked and it seemed as if the game lost a bit of its luster.

The Trojans are now 6-1, and before this the only knock on their resume was that they hadn't played anybody.

After a win over a talented Notre Dame team on the road, the Trojans will find themselves ranked for the first time in the 2011 season.

Cincinnati Bearcats

Watch out, the Bearcats are sneaking up near the top of the Big East standings.

The team is now 6-1 after an inspiring road win against South Florida in which they racked up 507 yards of total offense.

With West Virginia reeling, look for the Bearcats to make a serious case to be the class of the Big East going forward.
