BCS Rankings 2011: Projected Week 9 Standings
Here we go!
We’ve been eagerly anticipating that one crazy weekend that would shake college football’s foundation, and we finally got it on Saturday.
It seems like we've been waiting for some big upsets all season long and our wish was finally granted.
Big Game Bob’s No. 3-ranked Oklahoma Sooners fell to Texas Tech at home, but that wasn’t even the most surprising development of the day.
In one of the craziest finishes in recent memory, Michigan State managed to take down No. 6 Wisconsin with a last-second tipped Hail Mary pass that dashed the Badgers’ national title dreams.
It should be plenty of fun to see how the voters and computers try to make sense of all of this.
The only thing that we know for sure right now is that we’ve got a huge mega-matchup between No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama to prepare for.
We’ll find out who really is worthy of the No. 1 ranking on Nov. 5, but at this point in the season, there are still a ton of questions remaining in college football.
Are we destined for an LSU vs. Oklahoma State national championship game?
Is a rematch between LSU vs. Alabama in New Orleans actually possible?
Can Clemson keep up the momentum?
Will USC spoil Stanford’s title hopes?
There are too many questions to answer right now.
It will all play itself out in the coming weeks, and if you’re a true college football fan, you have to be hoping that the fun is just beginning.
I’ll be honest, it's hard to tell how these recent upsets are going to impact the standings, but here’s my best guess at how the BCS Week 9 Top 25 will look:
1. LSU Tigers
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
3. Oklahoma State Cowboys
4. Clemson Tigers
5. Stanford Cardinal
