BCS Rankings 2011: Arkansas and BCS Teams That Will Tumble with Victories

Arkansas squeaked by an Ole Miss Black Bears team they were supposed to destroy and they are now destined to take a big hit in the BCS rankings because of it. It is not just whether you win in college football, but how you win.

But the Razorbacks are hardly the only school in danger of not impressing this week. Here are two other teams who are headed for a slide after this week's uninspired efforts.

No. 9 Arkansas 29, Ole Miss 24

Arkansas needed a big third quarter to come back from a 17-7 halftime deficit. They couldn't get their passing game going and they couldn't sustain drives because of it.  

This was a poor showing against a 2-4 Ole Miss team that is 0-4 in the SEC.

Arkansas is now 6-1 on the season, but this poor win will cost them valuable BCS points and they will be passed, at least, by Oregon, who cruised to a 45-2 victory.

No. 5 Boise State 37, Air Force 26

The Broncos do not only have to avoid losses, they have to avoid even close wins. While 11 points certainly doesn't qualify as a nail biter, it is not impressive enough to keep them bringing in votes like they were leading up to this game.

Boise State will now likely be passed by Wisconsin and possibly Stanford who are both leading in their games against teams in the top 25.

No. 2 Alabama 27, Tennessee 6

Alabama needed the second half to turn this performance around and win by a fairly impressive score. However, with the top of these polls as loaded as they are, just the first bad half could cost them.

Oklahoma is breathing down Alabama's neck. Oklahoma is currently playing Texas Tech as that game was delayed due to lightning, but if they win that one impressively, you can look for them to jump over Alabama.
