Georgia Tech vs. Miami: What Does Yellow Jackets' Blowout Loss Mean for Season?
Georgia Tech was crushed by Miami 24-7. Miami rode a dominant defense and some miscues from the Yellow Jackets to pull out the victory.
The loss leaves Georgia Tech at 3-2 in ACC play and Miami 2-2 in conference play.
What Happened?
Georgia Tech had their run game shut down. And this is what happens when you try the triple option and can't run it.
They averaged just 2.6 yards on 47 carries.
Who's the Goat? Georgia Tech Offensive Line
This offensive line was manhandled and blown up. They allowed penetration on almost every play. They were just flat out dominated. This team is not equipped to get anything done if they can't get blocking up front.
How Far Will They Fall?
The Yellow Jackets can kiss the Top 25 goodbye. They entered this game ranked No. 20, and they had little margin for error. There is no way they will survive after getting dominated like this.
Postseason Implications
This is Tech's second loss of the season and both have come in conference play. They will fall behind both Virginia and Virginia Tech in the ACC Coastal division as they both only have one loss.
Georgia Tech has their work cut out for them if they want to make the ACC championship and their schedule is only going to get harder.
Next Game
The Yellow Jackets' next game comes against overall ACC leader, undefeated Clemson. They will play that game at home on October 29th.
Can They Rebound?
No. This is their second straight loss, and they are staring at an upcoming schedule of Clemson, Virginia Tech, at Duke and Georgia. I can only see them winning one of those games.
