BCS Rankings 2011: Alabama and 3 Teams Destined for BCS Bowl Greatness

Eric BowmanOct 21, 2011

Several teams are destined for one heck of a season in 2011, and they will all remain atop the BCS rankings until the final game is played.

The first BCS rankings of 2011 created a lot of buzz, and it will only continue to do so for the rest of the season. Whether you love the BCS or hate it, it's something college football fans have to live with for now.

There's still plenty of time for teams to climb up the rankings, but it's clear which ones are going to shine all season long.

Here are three teams guaranteed to brightly shine in a BCS Bowl this season.

Alabama Crimson Tide

The Crimson Tide are rolling right now, and it's hard to see anyone stopping them. The only team that can push them for all four quarters would be LSU, but if Tyrann Mathieu and Spencer Ware aren't able to play in that game, I'm not so sure the Tigers would win.

No matter what happens in that game, the Crimson Tide will still play in a BCS Bowl. Whether it's for the BCS National Championship or the Sugar Bowl remains to be seen.

Trent Richardson has been on fire, rushing for over 100 yards in six straight games. He's a strong candidate for the Heisman Trophy, and is the main reason the Crimson Tide will go far in 2011.

Wisconsin Badgers

Russell Wilson has transformed the Badgers from a good team with a great running game to an all-around elite squad. The Badgers' new QB has been making his case for the Heisman, and it's difficult to see any team slowing Wisconsin down.

James White and Montee continue to dominate the ground and pound, and this Saturday, the Badgers will prove to everyone that they are the real deal.

Wisconsin takes on Michigan State for their first road game of the year this weekend, and it's not going to be as close as everyone thinks it will be. The Badgers are favored by a touchdown, but they will win by much more.

This team should easily win the Big Ten, and if they stay undefeated, they will be in the hunt to play for the title game. Their schedule may hurt them in that area, which is why I see them as a lock for the Rose Bowl.

Boise State Broncos

The Broncos will no doubt be undefeated this year, but their schedule will prevent them from playing the title game. Boise State is still going to play in a BCS Bowl, and they're going to win.

This will be Kellen Moore's final year, and it could also be the last season for head coach Chris Petersen. The Broncos will go out on top, winning their bowl game, remaining undefeated and creating more chaos surrounding the BCS.

If you're a fan of the BCS, then you want the Broncos to lose, but if you'd rather have a playoff, then it's time to get on the bus and root for Boise State.

The Broncos are likely candidates for the Fiesta Bowl or the Sugar Bowl if they're snubbed from the title game, and they'll beat whatever opponent comes their way in January, since Boise State is a very talented team that's better than most of the country realizes.
