BCS Rankings 2011: Nebraska and More That Won't Be in Top 25 at End of Season
Nebraska and other pretenders will be weeded out of the top 25 by season's end. The following teams have fooled voters by skirting by on a weak schedule, but they can't keep this charade up for a full season.
No. 11 Kansas State
Kansas State is a solid team, but its schedule is brutal. The next four games are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas.
I do not think this is a complete enough team to win more than one of those games.
No. 13 Nebraska
Nebraska's defense is not going to let it get through this season in the top 25. It has games against Michigan State, Penn State and Michigan remaining, and only the game against the Spartans is in Lincoln.
It will lose at least two of those and then get throttled in its bowl game to find itself on the outside of the top 25.
No. 18 Michigan
Michigan was fully exposed for the one-dimensional team it is against Michigan State. While its schedule is not particularly tough—it only has two remaining game against ranked teams—I expect it to struggle and then get destroyed in its bowl game to find itself on the outside looking in.
