Time and Time Again: It's Not Over Till It's Over...

They said "It's never too late" but you just turned a deaf ear—when you really should have listened.

Last evening, for what was really the umpteenth time, a goal was scored in what was practically the final minute of stoppage time after 90 minutes had been played at Old Trafford.

It goes to show what belief can do!

It all seemed lost for Manchester United, the reigning champions, two precious points were sliding out of their grip—it would've have been a devastating blow to Sir Alex Ferguson's men and their ambitions of mounting a serious title challenge, especially because all of their rivals had collected three points from their affairs.

Cristiano Ronaldo was off the pitch, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, and Carlos Tevez were unable to hit the back of the net but a certain Serbian stopper was overtaken by "belief".

He charged up the pitch; 10,20,30,40—more than 50 yards!

Michael Carrick found the ball, 25 yards out, he could've passed it to Rooney or Rafael on the flanks but he truly "let it rip", a deflection ensured the ball rattled the woodwork and met the raging left foot by Nemanja Vidic who tucked the ball away—at the right place, at the right time.

The whistle was followed by a chorus of "Glory, Glory Man United" but spare a thought for the Black Cats, the manager-less Sunderland who came so close to taking a point away from the Theatre of Dreams but, yet so far.

It takes me back to a particular FA Cup Final, in stoppage time, an unbelievable 30-yard strike for Steven Gerrard ensured a 3-3 scoreline at full time; Liverpool eventually went on to lift the trophy.

It's all about belief, It's never over till the whistle has been blown as the miracle of Istanbul also showed us.
