BCS Rankings 2011: Auburn Tigers and 3 Teams That Will Drop After Week 8

Eric BowmanOct 17, 2011

The first BCS rankings of the 2011 college football season have been released, and a few teams will experience a short time in the Top 25.

Fans always have a lot to say about the BCS, but some only have a week to rejoice at the fact their team is ranked.

Here are three teams that will fall from the BCS after Week 8.

No. 20 Auburn

The Tigers have had many ups and downs this season, but they managed to hit a hot streak and squeezed their way into the Top 20.

That's all about to come crashing down since Auburn must hit the road to take on the No. 1 LSU Tigers this Saturday. A battle of two Tigers will no doubt see LSU continue their reign as the most dominant team in college football right now.

No. 16 Michigan State

The Spartans looked lost after being shocked by Notre Dame, but they held it together with good wins over Ohio State and Michigan.

Unfortunately, Michigan State must now host the red-hot Wisconsin Badgers, and it's not going to be easy upsetting the No. 6 team in the country. The Spartans may have won last year, but in the past six years these two teams have been trading wins and losses. Plus, Russell Wilson is too good, and the Spartans will find it hard to slow him down.

No. 25 Washington

The Huskies barely made it into the Top 25, but their tight loss against Nebraska helped give them that extra push.

However, their time in the BCS will be short-lived because the Huskies must now hit the road to take on Andrew Luck and the No. 8 Stanford Cardinal. Washington has played surprisingly better than expected, but it's no match for Stanford.
