BCS Rankings 2011: 5 Teams That Deserved More Respect from Computers
The problem with computers is that unless we are talking about The Terminator. they they don't have feelings, and I highly doubt the BCS system is going to develop a brain and try to take over the world.
The BCS system sure get's a ton of hate for being a bunch of computers, but perhaps those pieces of machinery deserve it.
The issue is that they don't have feelings.
They can't feel love, they can't feel hate, and they certainly can't feel bias; and that's what makes them perfect for rankings.
That being said, there is one important feeling that cannot be overlooked, and that's respect.
The rankings don't take into account the atmosphere of games, the adversity overcome, and the greatness of the moments in these BCS games.
It's simple, some teams don't get enough respect for everything that they do through the course of a season, and it shows in their rankings.
Here are three teams that deserve a little bit more respect from the computers:
No. 10 Oregon:
The Ducks Week 1 loss to LSU really put them at a disadvantage, but ever since then they have played as good as can be expected. Granted they are beat up, but they still possess one of the most explosive offenses in the country. They deserve to be ahead of No. 9 Arkansas at the very least.
No. 6 Wisconsin:
It's hard to accept that Boise State is ranked higher than Wisconsin just based on the power of both conferences. I understand that the Badgers schedule has been pretty vanilla to this point. but they have looked dominant. It's the old, Boise State's conference isn't legitimate argument, but this time around I agree with it.
No. 7 Clemson:
To be honest, I would rank the Tigers ahead of Boise State as well. They have beaten some very legitimate teams including ranked Auburn, Florida State, and Virginia Tech all in a row, and they look to be in a good position to go undefeated in the ACC with a few more big games.
