BCS Rankings 2011 : Boise State and 5 Surprising Teams Who Could Win It All
LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma have separated themselves from the pack at the top of the BCS standings. However, there are five other teams with the talent to knock them off and win it all.
Boise State
Boise State is dismantling opponents with a balanced attack. They have an excellent defense that is strong against the run and the pass. They have a very solid run game. And they feature what might be the most efficient pass game in the country that is led by superb QB Kellen Moore.
Boise State certainly hasn't faced the stiffest competition, but they were impressive beating Georgia by 14 in their opener and on the road. They have also shown in the past that they can play the nation's elite teams in bowl games and take them down.
Clemson
Clemson looks like this year's Auburn to me. Their wins may not always be impressive, but they always find a way to win. And they are doing it against tough competition.
Clemson rocketed up the polls by going on a three week winning streak over top 25 teams.
They have a dynamic offense and one of the nation's most dominant players in super freshman WR Sammy Watkins.
Wisconsin
For my money, Wisconsin is the most balanced team in the country, and this all starts in the trenches.
They have an incredibly stingy defense that is led by a dominant defense line.
Offensively this team can beat you with the run or the pass. The offensive line opens up plenty of holes in the run game, and they allow Russell Wilson, one of the nation's best QBs, to work his magic.
Stanford
Stanford's shot at the championship can be summed up in two words: Andrew Luck.
Luck is the best player in college football. He could start on many NFL rosters and with a QB like this Stanford has a chance to beat every team they play.
Luck is surrounded by youth, and they appear to be getting better with each game. If they can make it through the regular season unscathed, they will be ready to win the national championship.
Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State doesn't have the greatest defense, but they have an offense that can outscore anyone. They have yet to be held under 30 points this season.
They are second in the nation in points scored per game at 49.2.
They have a very solid running game, but it is the passing game that really strikes fear into opponents. WR Justin Blackmon is one of the best players in the country and an absolute matchup nightmare for any defense.
