BCS Standings 2011: Clemson and 3 Teams Who Don't Deserve BCS Respect
There are still some pretenders lurking in the Top 25. While they may have some of the voters fooled, they don't have me fooled. Here are the three biggest offenders of the Top 25.
No. 8 Clemson
You can't argue with what Clemson has accomplished. They went on a run beating three straight teams in the Top 25.
However, the teams that they beat are not as good as they appeared at the time.
They beat Auburn, Florida State and Virginia Tech. Clemson has done this with a balanced attack, but they are solid at everything and great at nothing.
This team is not capable of handling the elite defenses in the nation or slowing the elite offenses.
No. 11 Michigan
Michigan showed how overvalued they were today by getting handled by their rival Michigan State 28-14. The Wolverines had crept up to No. 11 by virtue of going 6-0 on the season.
However, that unblemished record was a mirage. They hadn't played an opponent in the Top 25. Their lone impressive win came against Notre Dame. And in that game, Notre Dame beat themselves as much as Michigan beat them.
No. 14 Nebraska
Nebraska's defense is horrible. It's hard to believe this team was ranked in the Top 25 and it is hard to believe they are ranked at all after the shellacking they took against Wisconsin.
This team has not beaten a ranked opponent. And there is little hope that they could.
Along with their bad defense, they don't have the passing offense that will allow them to play from behind.
