Liverpool vs Manchester United: Javier Hernandez Already Earning New Contract

Nicholas GossOct 15, 2011

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez earned the Red Devils a point on Saturday with his 81st minute equalizer that drew United level with Liverpool at Anfield, and is already earning the new contract he recently signed.

The 1-1 draw helped keep United's unbeaten Premier League record intact, and avoid defeat to their bitter rivals.

Hernandez headed the ball of a poor Danny Welbeck flick from a corner past Liverpool goalie Pepe Reina to tie the score after Liverpool had take over the momentum following a 68th minute free-kick goal by Steven Gerrard.

Hernandez's new contract was well deserved, and he has been the motor that has kept the Red Devils' offense going since arriving last season.

The Mexican striker has settled in quite nicely in England, a country unfamiliar to him when he arrived. The way he's fit in comfortably to a new culture and the Premier League is quite impressive, and it's something not often seen these days.

Hernandez scored 20 goals last season for Manchester United, and has two goals in league play this year.

Not only does Hernandez have a way of finding the back of the net, he puts himself in the right position to score goals

He makes good runs, he has good pace and he gives 100 percent effort on every scoring chance.

Hernandez is the type of player you need to have in your squad because his energy is contagious, and his teammates feed off of the intensity he displays on the pitch.

Hernandez's potential is amazing, and he's already accomplished so much with such little experience in European club football.

He could become a regular 20-plus goal scorer in the Premier League, and be an offensive threat in UEFA Champions League play for Sir Alex Ferguson's United squad.

Javier Hernandez got his new contract and long-term financial success, but he is still fighting like a player with lots to prove.

This determination and passion for football is exactly what Manchester United needs to win trophies this season and beyond.
