College Football Predictions Week 7: Auburn and More Top 25 Teams in Trouble

Every week of the college football season gives us some upsets. The world of college football is much more emotion driven than the NFL, so wild upsets seem to be the norm.

Let's take a look at teams in the Top 25 that are in a vulnerable position this week. For the record, I am not talking about teams in games against other Top 25 opponents. These are teams that will be at least in danger of falling to unranked opponents.

Auburn

Auburn has been a really inconsistent team this year. Still, they have managed to play their way back into the Top 25, and managed to stay there after losing to Arkansas last week.

This week's game against Florida will be an interesting test. Florida was looking extremely impressive, then back to back games against Alabama and LSU came around and the Gators are looking quite mortal.

Even with Florida's injuries, I am liking their chances at pulling the upset against the Tigers. I just can't trust Auburn this year against what will be a brutal SEC schedule.

South Carolina

Just when you think you've got everything figured out, you get a game between the SEC's too most inconsistent teams. I am happy that I am not betting on Saturday's South Carolina at Mississippi State game, and I would encourage everyone to avoid doing that.

The over/under is unpredictable, the spread is unpredictable, the two teams are unpredictable. Week in and week out, we just don't know what we're going to get from either.

I think the Gamecocks will win, but I will say this: I wouldn't want to be in a must-win game against Mississippi State.

Virginia Tech

Wake Forest has actually played very good football this year. They did lose to Syracuse, but haven't lost since and they beat a ranked Florida State team last week.

This week they are hosting a Virginia Tech team that's had its fair share of troubles this year. Sure, the Hokies are only a one-loss team, but they have been less than impressive against teams that they should be dominating.

I do think the Hokies will win this one, but a Wake Forest win wouldn't be at all surprising to me.
