Indiana vs. Wisconsin: Last Minute Spread Info, Line, BCS Impact and Prediction

Andrew KulhaOct 13, 2011

The match up between the Indiana Hoosiers and Wisconsin Badgers squares two classic Big Ten schools in a classic Big Ten environment.

The stakes of each game get higher as the weather turns colder. This game couldn't mean more for either team.

Indiana is struggling yet again in 2011, but at 1-5 they can atone for their current predicament with a huge upset win against the No. 4 program in the nation.

Wisconsin will not be an easy upset, though. They feature one of the best quarterbacks in the nation in Russell Wilson, and are one of the most physically dominating teams out there—as usual.

They have the home field advantage and all of the momentum, which means that if the Hoosiers are to pull this off, it will take a miracle.

Where: Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, WI

When: Saturday Oct. 15. 12 p.m EST

Watch: ESPN 2, ESPN 3

Spread (Bodog.com): Wisconsin -40 1/2

This is a scary large spread. I would be cautious when betting on a spread this big.

Over/Under (thespread.com): 60

Once again, with a number this high you need to be very careful. I'm note sure Indiana will add to the total that much.

Key Injuries:

Indiana: Quarterback Edward Wright-Baker (probable—ankle), safety Donnell Jones (doubtful—undisclosed), quarterback Dusty Kiel (doubtful—ankle), safety Jarrell Drane (doubtful—ankle).

Wisconsin: Defensive back Dezmen Southward (probable—shoulder), kicker Philip Welch (probable—quadricep), defensive back Shelton Johnson (probable—leg).

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications:

Wisconsin is trying to prove that they are national championship material, so an easy blowout win here is in order. Indiana could literally pull off one of the biggest upsets in college football history.

Keys to Indiana Win:

Quarterback Edward Wright-Baker needs to play through his ankle injury, and then he has to play the game of his lifetime. It's a tall order for Wright-Baker and the Hoosiers.

Keys to Wisconsin Win:

All quarterback Russell Wilson needs to do is go out there and be his dominant self, and the Badgers should collect an easy win. I expect that he will vastly improve on his 1,391 yards and 13 touchdowns on the year. Look for the Badgers' mammoth offensive line to dictate play.

Prediction:

There is no way Wisconsin doesn't blow Indiana out of the water, especially at home.

Wisconsin: 47, Indiana: 10
