BCS Rankings 2011: Michigan and 3 Teams That Are Ready for Top 10
The top 10 is loaded with great teams. The past few weeks there has been very little movement. That is going to start changing. The following three teams are ready to move up as a few of these teams pick up their eventual losses. Look to see these teams knock on the top-10 door in the BCS rankings soon, if not this Sunday when they are first released.
No. 11 Michigan
Michigan sits at 6-0, but it is justifiably outside the top 10, as it has yet to play a team in the top 25. That will change this week as they take on Michigan State.
Michigan will be on the road for this game, but it is a more complete team. The Spartans are going to have a hard time scoring on Michigan. This win will likely vault Michigan into the top 10, and even if it doesn't, the Wolverines have two more very winnable games coming up before showdowns with Illinois and Nebraska.
No. 13 West Virginia
West Virginia should be able to run the table. The Mountaineers have a dynamic offense. They are averaging 41 points per game. Only once all season have they been held under 30, and that was 21 to LSU. That 21 points is looking better each week LSU completely shuts down teams.
They do not have another game on their schedule with a team ranked in the top 25.
No. 17 Kansas State
Kansas State is on a roll. The Wildcats have a fantastic defense. Up next for them is a high-powered Texas Tech offense. They will shut them down and then steam roll Kansas.
This stretch will vault them close to the top 10, and with a little help into the top 10. From that point it is going to be hard going for Kansas State. The Wildcats will have four games against top 25 teams, starting with Oklahoma.
