January Transfer Window: 5 Most Ridiculous Rumors So Far
Is David Beckham heading back to England?
Is he really going to join QPR? Or would he really go back to Manchester United?
How about France? PSG, anyone?
Ridiculous, isn't it?
All of it is ridiculous, but sometimes that's the name of the game in world football transfer rumors.
Heck, in the past week alone we saw rumors that Rio Ferdinand was heading to MLS, Ashley Cole was going to Russia and Lassana Diarra was, well, you'll find out.
Brek Shea to Half the Premier League
1 of 5OK, so maybe it wasn't half the Premier League.
But it was the entire Top 4.
The word out of England earlier this week was that up-and-coming American midfielder Brek Shea is on the wish lists of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
We could see one, but all four?
FC Dallas certainly doesn't think so, according to ESPN.
Shea has been a breakout star recently for the United States with his blazing runs and creative flair out on the left wing.
We wish him the best, really, but we don't actually think all four of those clubs want him.
Rio Ferdinand to MLS
2 of 5Last week, some comments got taken out of context and according to The Guardian, linked Rio Ferdinand to a move to the Chicago Fire of MLS.
Poppycock.
Sky Sports said Ferdinand's agent quickly squashed the rumors, but you know how these things go.
We'll probably hear about it through January and into next summer.
Ashley Cole to Russia
3 of 5Earlier this week, The Sun claimed Ashley Cole could be heading to Russia to play for Anzhi Makhachkala.
Apparently the Russian club was going to pay Cole £200,000 per week.
Yeah, OK.
Lassana Diarra to Doncaster Rovers
4 of 5You have to hand it to The Sun. Their writers come up with some interesting stuff.
This one is particularly outrageous: Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid to…
Wait for it…
Doncaster Rovers.
Sure, Diarra played at Portsmouth. And he's out of favor at Real.
But Doncaster? Really?
David Beckham to Everyone
5 of 5David Beckham has been linked to a move from the Los Angeles Galaxy to PSG.
He's been linked with a move to QPR.
He's been linked with a move to Manchester United.
It's a circus. It's ridiculous.
He's going to make a move, but it's probably not going to be a move to any of those teams.
Why would he go back to Manchester United? Why would they want him back?
Would he really play for QPR?
Would he want to go to France instead of England?
Let's all just catch our breath and wait it out.
