LSU vs. Tennessee: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and BCS Impact
While they may be ranked No. 1 in the country, the Tigers of LSU will have a big test ahead of them when they head to Tennessee to face off with a tough Volunteers team.
This won’t be the hardest test of the season for LSU, but if the Tigers take this game lightly they could end up on the wrong side of a loss.
Where: Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, Tennessee
When: Saturday, October 15, 3:30 p.m. ET
Watch: CBS
Spread: Tennessee +15.5 (courtesy Covers)
The spread sounds about right here and I would probably stay away from this bet if I could. If I had to make the choice on this game, I would take Tennessee with the points because their defense is good enough to stifle the mediocre offense of LSU.
Over/Under: 43.5 (courtesy Covers)
This is another bet I would steer clear from because of the matchup, but I would go under here if I was feeling dangerous. Both defenses are stout, and neither offense poses much of a legitimate threat for huge points.
Key Injuries
LSU
P.J. Lonergan, C, day-to-day
Josh Dworaczyk, G, out for season
Tennessee
Steven Fowlkes, DL, questionable
Tauren Poole, RB, doubtful
Tyler Bray, QB, out until mid-November
BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications
There isn’t much hope of getting into the Top 25 for the Tennessee Volunteers, but spoiling the perfect season dreams and BCS championship aspirations of LSU is enough to make the Vols play tougher. LSU wants a convincing win to show the voters in all of the polls that they deserve the No. 1 spot in the nation.
Keys to a LSU Win
As it always will be, the key to victory for LSU will be the toughness of their defense and how much they can stop the Volunteers offense. LSU’s offense will get them a few points, but if their defense shuts down Tennessee, there will be far less pressure on the mediocre offense.
Keys to a Tennessee Win
The key for the Volunteers will be running back Tauren Poole and whether or not he can get into the open field away from tough LSU defenders. If Poole can give the offense a chance to get after LSU’s defense, they have a chance. Albeit small.
Prediction: LSU 24, Tennessee 10
