College Football Picks Against the Spread: Bold Predictions for Week 7
Even the least exciting game can become exciting if you put a bet on it. Exciting games just get an extra dose of intrigue.
This week, there are four games between ranked teams and a bunch of other games that should be really fun to watch.
Here are some picks against the spread that should add a few bucks to your wallet.
Georgia Tech (-8) vs. Virginia
1 of 5The Yellow Jackets have been blowing by opponents with their triple-option offense, while Virginia has been unimpressive.
Georgia Tech had a pitiful performance against Maryland last week, but head coach Paul Johnson will make sure that won’t happen again.
The Cavaliers don’t have much of a home-field advantage, lost by 12 to GT last year and Tech has greatly improved from that team.
Take the Jackets to cover by a good margin.
Alabama (-25.5) vs. Ole Miss
2 of 5Ole Miss is just awful this year. Alabama is amazingly good.
The Rebels' offense is averaging less than 275 yards per game, which is 114th out of 120 teams in the country, and they are giving up more than 400 yards of offense per game.
They also lost to Vanderbilt by 23 points.
A 25.5-point spread is easy money for Alabama.
LSU (-15.5) vs. Tennessee
3 of 5The Volunteers will be without their starting quarterback Tyler Bray, and he leads the SEC in passing yards and efficiency.
They don’t have a semblance of a running game, and starting back Tauren Poole has been bothered by injuries for a few weeks now.
LSU’s defense has shut down offenses much better than Tennessee’s, even with Bray in the game. The Vols’ defense couldn’t stop Florida’s run game, and the Tigers are much better at running the ball than the Gators.
LSU wins this game by a lot more than 15.5—try 30.
Utah vs. Pittsburgh (-7)
4 of 5The difference between Pitt on the road and at home is remarkable.
Pitt completely shut down the high-flying South Florida offense at home but followed that up by giving up 34 points to Rutgers on the road.
Utah’s quarterback Jordan Wynn is now out for the season with a shoulder injury. The Utes have also given up over 30 points in their last two games, which came at home.
Pitt should win this game with way more than a touchdown to spare.
Baylor vs. Texas A&M (-9)
5 of 5The Aggies are reeling after two close losses to Oklahoma State and Arkansas, and they edged out a five-point win over Texas Tech.
One of the major selling points for A&M this year was its defense, and it has been non-existent. Baylor’s offense will take advantage of this, and this will be a close shootout.
The biggest thing for the Aggies is their mental preparation. They have the more talented team, but given their streak of close games, take Baylor to at least cover.
Taking the over at 75 total points is also a pretty good bet.
