English Premier League: Tom Cleverly's New Contract and EPL Top News

Thomas AtzenhofferOct 10, 2011

The press has been alive with some great news for Manchester United and Fulham fans, but those hoping for Wayne Rooney to get a reprieve from his poor decision Friday will have to continue holding their breaths.

While Sir Alex Ferguson is busy laying the midfield groundwork for his next dynasty, Harry Redknapp and Roy Hodgson are hoping to breathe life into their clubs.

Russia's new mega-money club is again spewing more names than they should have pull for.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger still has his eyes on youth but seems to forget he is having a terrible present that could ruin any hopes of a future.

Scott Allan

Roy Hodgson is continuing to push for the capture of Dundee United midfield sensation Scott Allan.

The 19-year-old is expected to make the move to England in January if the offer is accepted.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney already must feel bad. He nearly cost his team the game against Montenegro after a reckless tackle attempt earned him a red card.

Rooney is awaiting the full decision, as the hearing on the matter has been scheduled for Thursday, October 13th, 2011.

However, he will have to feel double the frustration as his national team boss, Fabio Capello, has demoted him to the bench for the next nine months.

The Italian has to now search for Rooney's replacement for the crucial opening matches at the Euros next summer.

Robin van Persie, Nicolas Anelka and Neymar

Samuel Eto'o is hoping that his major (money wise) yet rarely seen club, Anzhi, can pull off at least one of the major bids it claims to have set in motion.

The Daily Mail reports the club is expected to attempt to sign the attacking trio of Nicolas Anelka, Robin van Persie and Neymar.

Really guys?

Emmanuel Adebayor

Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker turned Tottenham loan star, Emmanuel Adebayor, has been given an ultimatum from current manager Harry Redknapp.

The Spurs boss has expressed his desire to keep a hold of Adebayor, guaranteeing the Togo international playing time.

However, the striker will have to lower his wage demands.

Carlos Tevez

In continued Carlos Tevez drama, there now appears to be a chance he could be offered an express trip to Real Madrid.

However, I see him returning to West Ham before Jose Mourinho puts up with his antics, but I have been wrong before.

Fulham To Get Bigger Cottage

6 of 8

London based EPL club, Fulham, have announced they will not be leaving their longtime ground of Craven Cottage in hopes to put more fans in the stands.

The recent upturn in the club's performances have them set to increase their stadium capacity to 30,000 rather than move to another location.

This will allow them to improve their revenue stream, as their quest to become a permanent top ten club pushes on.

Arsene Wenger Looks To Stay Young

7 of 8

Another Arsenal transfer rumor has Arsene Wenger again looking for more youthful, unproven talent to keep adding to his squad of already under-experienced players.

His most recent player of desire is Real Madrid 16-year-old Jose Rodriguez.

The more young Spanish talent I see him chase, the more want-aways in the making I expect to see.

Tom Cleverley

The Daily Mail discussed the good news for Manchester United's Tom Cleverley, as Sir Alex Ferguson has signed him to a new contract until 2015.

Ferguson has hailed Cleverly as the true heir to Paul Scholes's midfield throne.
