College Football 2011: 50 Bold and off the Wall Predictions for Week 7

As another week of college football draws closer, fans, players and coaches will continue to analyze this week's matchup and the impact it could have on their season. 

While it is easy to sit here and predict that Oklahoma will beat Kansas, here is a look at 50 bold and off the wall predictions for people to keep their eyes on during this weeks games. 

Michigan Is for Real

Despite their weak schedule to this point, Michigan heads to East Lansing this week for a game against the Michigan State Spartans. With a perfect season on the line, the Wolverines come out and dominate behind another outstanding performance by Denard Robinson.

Kirk Herbstreit Talks About Wanting to Move to Eugene During Gameday Show

With the return of College GameDay to Eugene this week, Duck fans will be out in full force.

Like in years past, Kirk Herbstreit will get caught up in the moment and start to talk about moving to Eugene. 

Illinois Shuts out Ohio State

Not many people thought that Illinois and Ohio State would be where they are right now. After a demoralizing loss at Nebraska, Ohio State will limp into Illinois and leave with a shutout loss. 

Indiana Pushes Wisconsin

This is not a prediction that Indiana will win, but rather a prediction that they will not get steamrolled like every other team who goes up against Wisconsin.

Look for Indiana to push Wisconsin and keep the game tight until late in the third. 

Purdue Leaves Happy Valley Happy

Happy Valley is an outstanding home field advantage and Penn State feeds off the crowd's energy.

This week, Purdue comes to town. Look for them to silence the crowd and leave Happy Valley with an important win. 

Mark May and Lou Holtz Don't Argue

As hard as this might be to believe, look for Mark May and Lou Holtz to go the entire day Saturday without arguing one time. 

Oregon Will Wear a Very Simple Uniform Combination That Is Loved by All

This is the week that it finally happens. Oregon runs out of the tunnel and onto the field wearing a uniform combination that is universally accepted by everyone in college football. 

Oklahoma State Scores More Than Oklahoma Did Against the Longhorns

Oklahoma State's offense looks like it's truly hitting their stride after putting up 70 in their win over Kansas. 

Last week, Oklahoma put up 55 on the Longhorns and things get even uglier for Texas, as the Cowboys will top that total this week. 

Robert Woods Has 15+ Catches Against Cal

After his Week 1 performance, Robert Woods has not let up and has continued to put up impressive numbers.

As the Trojans head to Cal, look for Woods to impress again by catching over 15 passes in a USC victory. 

*UPDATE: Woods fell well short of our lofty expectations, finishing with just five catches for 36 yards in the Trojans' 30-9 win over Cal on Thursday night.

Duke Beats Florida State

Florida State is starting to look like a defeated team before they even step foot on the field.

With three-straight losses to their name, the Seminoles take on Duke this week and hit rock bottom as the Blue Devils send them to their fourth-straight loss. 

Alabama's Defense Scores More Points Than Ole Miss

Very simply, Alabama's defense is nasty and Ole Miss is not that good.

Look for the Crimson Tide's defense to outscore Ole Miss in a very ugly loss for the Rebels. 

Lee Corso Dances with the Duck

Lee Corso loves himself the Ducks' mascot. For the past few years, College GameDay has been in Eugene five times and this will be their sixth trip.

Every time they are in town, Corso seems to have some interaction with the mascot and this year it will be much of the same. 

Andrew Luck Goes Without a Passing Touchdown

As Stanford continues to keep on rolling, they head on the road for a game against Washington State.

Andrew Luck has been as solid as ever, but look for the running game and defense to control this game and for Luck to go without a passing touchdown. 

Kansas Holds the Sooners to Under 35 Points

One week after the Sooners scored 55 points against Texas and Kansas gave up 70 to Oklahoma State, look for the Jayhawks to rise to the challenge and give up less then 35 points to Oklahoma this week. 

LSU's Punter Scores Again

Brad Wing became a known player around college football after a fake punt worked beautifully and he cruised into the end zone. Unfortunately for him, he did a little taunting on his way in and the play was called back.

Look for the mad hatter to defy all logic and run another fake that gets Wing back into the end zone.  

Baylor's Defense Shuts the Door on Texas A&M

After getting back on the right track last week, Baylor takes on Texas A&M this week in a key conference game.

Despite their previous performances, look for the Bears' defense to step up and provide some critical stops late in the game.  

Kansas State's Run Comes to an End

Much like Illinois, Kansas State has continued to surprise and amaze many around the nation. This week, the Wildcats head on the road to face Texas Tech. 

While the Wildcats are a solid team, look for the Red Raiders to put up too many points for them to handle. 

Oregon Cheerleaders Still Look Good at 7 in the Morning

The impressive part about a College GameDay show that is done on the west coast, is that the fans are there all night and are ready to go by 7 a.m. 

When the show has visited Eugene, the crowd has always been great but the Ducks' cheerleaders have been even better. 

Stephen Garcia Is Done for Good

Early this week, Stephen Garcia has been released from the South Carolina football program.

The unfortunate part of this for Garcia is he had talent and played up to that potential at times, but this will mark the end of his football career. 

Vanderbilt Stuns Georgia

After a brutal loss to Alabama this week, many would expect Vanderbilt to still be beaten down from that game.

In a surprising performance, look for Vanderbilt to stun Georgia and get the talks of Mark Richt being fired started up again. 

De'Anthony Thomas Scores 4 Times Against Arizona State

With LaMichael James likely out, the roll that DeAnthony Thomas will play in the Oregon offense will become even bigger.

Thomas will be both a weapon in the run game and passing game, and will break into the end zone four times against the Sun Devils. 

An Undefeated Falls

It seems like most years, the BCS is set up to have a nightmare but one by one teams fall off and make life easy on one of the most hated aspects of college football.

This year, things get a bit easier on the BCS as Boise State heads on the road and shows up flat against Colorado State. 

Utah Looks Good out of Conference Again

Utah has shown that they have yet to find their stride in conference, where they are still winless.  However, when playing out of conference, they are undefeated. 

This week Utah takes on Pitt, so watch the Utes come out with a solid performance and a victory. 

Oregon State Goes Back to Playing Like Oregon State

After a surprising win over Arizona, which then led to the firing of coach Mike Stoops, the Beavers will go up against BYU this week.

The Beavers looked impressive in the first half of the Arizona game, but were only a play or two away from blowing a huge lead.

Look for the Cougars to send them back to their losing ways. 

Les Miles Runs a Fake Field Goal

Seems like every year, Les Miles thinks up a creative way to catch his opponent off guard with a trick play on special teams.

One of the more recognizable plays Miles has run, is the fake field goal and it may be time to pull it out again. 

Florida Gets Third Straight Beatdown

First Alabama, then LSU, now Auburn.

The schedule has not been kind to Florida and without starting quarterback John Brantley, the Gators are in line for a third-straight conference loss. 

Mike Stoops Still Has a Sideline Eruption at Home

Despite being fired and Arizona on a bye week, Mike Stoops will be at home this Saturday and for no particular reason, will erupt and start going off on anyone that is near him. Sorry Mike. 

Denard Robinson Scores a Touchdown Missing Both Shoes

Last week against Northwestern, it was pointed out that Denard Robinson found a way to get in the end zone with only one shoe.

This week in a critical rivalry game, look for Robinson to up the ante and get into the end zone while missing both shoes. 

Wake Forest Defends Their Home Field

Since losing to Syracuse in the opening week of the season, Wake Forest has responded with four-straight wins, including last week's win over Florida State.

This week, Wake Forest welcomes Virginia Tech and will continue to surprise people with an upset of the Hokies. 

Brady Hoke Pulls a Hulk Hogan at Midfield After a Michigan Victory

After a last second victory over Michigan State, Brady Hoke runs to midfield at Spartan Stadium and goes all Hulk Hogan on us and rips his shirt in half. It could happen right?

Lou Holtz Does Not Pick Notre Dame to Win

Lou Holtz is a notorious homer but to be fair to Lou, Notre Dame is on a bye week, which will allow him to not pick them to win. You're off the hook this week coach. 

Georgia Tech Does Not Punt This Week

This past week, Georgia Tech's high scoring attack was held to only 21 points against Maryland.

This week, the Yellow Jackets head to Virginia and will get back on track quickly and not have to punt at all. 

Arizona State Fakes 12 Injuries

Last year, Oregon headed to Arizona State for an early season game and things got very interesting, as many Sun Devil players found themselves on the turf with mysterious injuries.

While it is just a theory that they faked injuries, the tactic did knock Oregon out of its rhythm at time and kept the game close.

This year, the Sun Devils come to Austin and don't be surprised to see the same tactic.

Pat Hill Wants Fresno to Go Back to Being Competitive

Coming into this season, Pat Hill had hoped that his program could move from competitive to a really good program. After a 2-4 start to the year, Hill is likely hoping that his team can go back to being competitive. 

Erin Andrews Looks Better Than Ever

Despite being in Eugene and dealing with cold weather conditions, Erin Andrews will continue to amaze and look better than ever. 

A Game Will End Early Due to Weather

In the opening week of the season, weather clammed one game and delayed others.

Look for lightning to strike twice as weather will heed another game, perhaps the game between Pitt and Utah. 

Steve Spurrier Now Has Connor Shaw Looking over His Shoulder

With Stephen Garcia now out of the picture, Connor Shaw is now the starter and will own the starting position. Despite the loss of Garcia, look for Spurrier to somehow have the new quarterback looking over his shoulder. 

Buffalo Upsets Temple

After an impressive start to the season, Temple takes on Buffalo in what should be an easy victory. Despite the bad matchup, look for the Bulls to find a way to pull off the upset. 

Justin Blackmon Catches 5 Touchdowns

In last week's blowout victory over Kansas, Oklahoma State spread the ball around and beat up on the Jayhawks.

This week the Cowboys take on Texas, and you can expect Blackmon to get a ton of looks and have a career day. 

Robert Griffin Is Held to Zero Passing Touchdowns

When going up against Texas A&M, the Aggies will be keying on the passing game with how effective Robert Griffin has been.

Look for the mobile quarterback to make plays with his legs and keep the Bears in this game.  

Colorado Stuns Washington

Out in the Pac-12 Colorado has looked awful so far this year.

This week they head up to Washington for a conference matchup. Look for Colorado to stun everyone, as they upset the Huskies on the back of their running game. 

Russell Wilson Struggles for First Time

Russell Wilson has been amazing since transferring to Wisconsin this year.

So far, he has gone through every game looking impressive and looking like a guy who has been there for years. While it may not seem like a tough matchup, look for Wilson to struggle this week against Indiana. 

Oklahoma Loses More First Place Votes

Despite their big win over Texas and another win on the way against Kansas, look for Oklahoma to continue to lose first place votes this week.

What Sooner fans should remember is, it doesn't matter because LSU and Alabama go head to head in early November. 

BJ Daniels Throws Four Touchdown

After a great start to the year, South Florida looked awful a couple weeks ago against Pitt. With a couple of weeks to figure things out, look for quarterback B.J. Daniels to lead by example and account for four South Florida touchdowns.

Nick Saban Smiles

As hard as this may be to believe, Nick Saban will smiles at some point this Saturday.

Saban is known for always being in control and continuing to push himself and his players, but no matter how short it may be for, we will see a smile this week. 

Matt Sims Throws 4 Picks

With the loss of Tyler Bray, Matt Simms is being called into action and it is not a good week for that to happen. 

This week, the Vols go up against the LSU Tigers and it is not a good spot of Simms to be in. 

Tim Tebow Gained More Yards Last Week Than Florida Will Gain This Week

Last week, Tim Tebow got back into game action after Kyle Orton struggled mightily. This week the Florida Gators play Auburn without their starting quarterback and will likely struggle.

Look for the 117 yards that Tebow put up last week to be more yards than Florida musters this week.

LaMichael James Is Dressed for This Weeks Game

When the Ducks last played on Thursday night, everyone was witness to a brutal looking injury that LaMichael James suffered late in the game. 

Just a little over a week later, look for James to dress but not play against Arizona State. While he may be close to being back, the Ducks will need him for games late in the year and do not want to rush him. 

Jacory Harris Is Benched in Miami

The up and down performance of Jacory Harris finally comes to an end this week as this will be it for Harris. With inconsistent performances since last year, Al Golden will be forced to make a change at quarterback. 

People Are Still Confused by the BCS Rankings

After this week's games, college football fans will get their first look at the BCS rankings and still have no idea what is going on. Along with still being confused, people around the nation will still hope for its failure this year as many still long for a playoff format.
